Doc, ya gotta help me. I want a small decorated Sebenza so bad, but I can't get one up here. In Canada, with the exchange and taxes they're about the cost of a small car. Heck, I also want a small plain Sebbie just to tide me over. But then the big Sebbie is soooo nice too. So I surf and surf and do searches under every possible keyword, and then I see them... damascus sebenzas... wood inlaid Sebenzas... big ones, small ones, patterns, jewels, all different, every one a must have... and then I see the prices! $290, $390, $650, $760....it's all too much!!!!! I'm selling the car, leaving my wife. I'm taking a job as the postman for CRK just so I can be near the knives. Meanwhile, I've carved some soap into the right shapes and pasted pictures of different Sebbies on the sides. I sleep with them under my pillow but at night I dream of real Sebbies and I wake up sweating with the soap all melted.
So what do you suggest, doc?

Hello....uh...I'd like to keep my name secret in this....aw nuts my name is over there on the left, oh well

Hi my name is Gary W. Graley, and I'm a Sebenza nut as well, my wife, lord bless her soul, doesn't understand me, sniff, sniff...and if the Umfaan 2000 is nicer than last years I'll have to splurge and get that and that might just send me over the top....
So CRK, make something that I won't like, tough chore!

FULL with anticipation!

Hi, my name is clip and I'm a sebenzaholic.

Just this past week, I gave in to my addiction and received a new decorated small. I can't seem to stop- I know I can't do it, but I need an Umfaan, and if the 2000 pattern is nice like Gary said, I'm in real trouble.

I constantly check my pockets to make sure Stripe is there. (Heck- I NAMED it- that's gotta be a bad sign!) Every time I use it, I obssesively wipe down the blade and handle. I know it's made to work hard, but I couldn't bear to force into hard labor-that'd be abuse!

And now I keep thinking up ways to swing a wood inlay model- I need help! Isn't there some kind of 12 step program around for us?!?!

I am powerless over Sebenza's, and my life is unmanagable.
I've had my sebenza for only 24 hrs and still can't put it down

Cure must be optional though

I deny that I have a problem. I told my wife when she bought me my first Sebenza (small, decorated) that it would be the last knife that I would need/buy. Well, I just bought a large, plain from C4 yesterday but I REALLY NEEDED that knife. This wasn't a want this was a NEED! Thinking about having the large converted to dual thumb studs. That way I can play with my Sebenza with my left hand and give my right-Sebenza-thumb a chance to heal. I only check out BladeForums a couple of times a day and only take ONE peek at Ebay to do a Sebenza search. I DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM!

My suggestion to you guys is to go COLD TURKEY- send me all your Sebenzas. Especially if you have a Small Sebenza with dual thumb studs to match my Large Sebenza with dual thumb studs.

Been on the wagon since last August. Have almost got this thing kicked. Sad thing is, my eagerly anticipated large Sebenza (2000 wood inlay, bronzed raindrop damascus, dual thumbs) is going to arrive and I'll have to start all over. Damn

It's only a mistake if you fail to learn from it!

Gee guys, I couldn't blame you all for feeling that way about the mighty Sebenza.

My cousin just flew in a couple of days ago from Chicago. Now this guy buys POS knives okay? like those $2 knives and he's the one who kept telling me "a knife is a knife is a knife"... lol..

Guess what I saw when he arrived? He doesn't even know that what he's carrying right now is a SEBENZA! You can simply imagine my eyes popping out when I saw it, and grabbed it even while we were still at the airport.
smile.gif
(you should've seen the airport security personnel's eyes, while we were waiting for the car to come around, hahahaha)

It was given to him by someone who owes him money, but couldn't pay up. I don't know how much, but I don't care. The handles were all scuffed up, but the blade is unused. My first time to see and touch a real live sebenza, and I went down to disassembling it to clean the handle slabs, or at least make it satin finish like what I read on another thread.

One thing I can say, is that CRK has VERY TIGHT TOLERANCES when it comes to matching parts! I've handled/assembled a lot of knives before, but this is actually the first time that I've seen such tight tolerances, which I think I can even assemble blindfolded!
smile.gif

Now I'm a disaster.. ever since I saw/held that knife, I feel that I gotta have one, but right now, with my financial problems I couldn't afford one yet... UNLESS I can probably con him into giving it to me in exchange for my taking care of him during his duration of stay here..
smile.gif
hehehe.. Think it's worth the effort?
smile.gif
If not, why am I writing here?!??? lol...

To be announced if I'm successful or not!

Dumb, dumb, dumb. I'm sorry but you should have kept a straight face and offered him $50 for it. But I know. Ya got the shakes and you couldn't help yourself. Oh well...

Dannyc,

You will just have to convince your cousin that airport security won't allow him on the plane with the Sebenza and you can help him out by buying the knife from him.

YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Speaking of the shakes!!! THE man (the man I ordered my sebenza from) emailed me tonight and told me TWO MORE WEEKS! Before that he told me end of April, beginning of May.

He's messin' with my MIND! I need that Sebenza, REAL BAD!!!!!!!!!

Tell me I did the right thing by ordering a New Classic. I knew I would have to wait and wait and wait but the waiting is KILLING ME! Aaaarrrrgggghhhhh!

Hoodoo,

LOL! I know.. But that thought came in a bit later. I guess I got mesmerized.

DL,

I would wanna do that, but I don't think I can spend for something like that, specially if he has an idea how much it's worth.
smile.gif
I'll just try to work it out from him. Service for Sebbie, how's that?
smile.gif

I'm actually working on a trade right now. The Sebbie is very good, but quite honestly, it's too much a knife for me. I'm used to the below $100 knives, that I fear if I do work for this, I might end up not using it at all.

In order to be helped through being a Sebenzaholic, one needs to want to be helped.

I'm an unrepentant Sebenzaholic. So sue me.
