Hello,

How do you keep your Sebenza and other CRK Knives? Keeping the original style Convex edge, or you sharpen using a stone/spyderco sharpmaker?

Regards!

I use a leather strop on a wooden block and dry sandpaper, keep the angle checked with a sharpie
works good on any knife

I recently sent my 9 yo small Classic to CRK for a spa treatment. It came back last week and it looks like a new knife. Razor sharp but I don't think it is a convex edge. This is fine by me. Looking at the edge under a 12x loupe it appears to be a conventional "V" edge with a very slight micro bevel. The original convex edge was easy to keep sharp with a weekly stropping.

For me it depends on the knife. For my sebenzas I keep the edges convex, usually with a work sharp. I have my manandi knives with a v edge with a small microbevil on my wicked edge.

It depends on the knife for me also. The Zaan gets a convex to help it with all the hard work I ask it to do. The Sebenza's get a "V" with a small mico. I do them all on the Wick Edge. Use a demin strop on wood with green compound. I wish I had the talent to free hand.

I used to just convex mine...until I got too lazy to sharpen the entire edge bevel whenever I need to touch up the edge. Now both my CRK has a convex edge with a sharpmaker 40deg microbevel, takes a lot less time to touch up the microbevel compared to sharpening the entire edge bevel.

Any edge pro users here that have Sebenzas? I'm curious to know how you approach your single lug Sebenzas. Make a temporary lug or stop for the other side so that the hold on the knife is even on both sides, or do you just say screw it and butt the handle up against the table on one side and when you flip the knife, butt the lug up against the table even though it's a little uneven?

Pretty similar to this.
