Hopefully, by the end of this week, I will have my first Sebbie(Large Regular) ordered and enroute(fingers crossed) from New Graham. :D After reading many reviews/posts here at the BF, I was wondering how the Sebbie would perform with hard use tasks. Being a truck driver, I occasionally will call on my EDC to cut hard rubber(mudflaps, blown tires), hoses, etc., and I'm curious on how the Sebbie would hold up to its' namesake.

I usually carry a SpyderEdged Spydie and a LM Charge XTi for the tough stuff, but IYO, how would the Sebenza perform in 'out of the ordinary' cutting tasks?

I plan on putting that Sebbie to work and don't look to try and keep it from getting scars/scratches on the blade or handle. :D

The Seb should excel at what you describe as your intended uses. The blade on the regular has a stonewashed finish that makes the light scratches look like part of the pattern. The handle will scruff up rather easily. The knife made to be used hard.

I handled a Sebenza at a gun show once, but didn't have the cash to take it. Now the more that I read about it, the more anxious I am to get it....

I plan on the Sebbie being my only EDC, after selling just about all of my spydies..... :D

The Sebbie is made to be used hard. I have cut some pretty tough stuff with my Sebbies.

At a knife show a few years ago, Tom Mayo pulled a large leather inlay from his back pocket and said to me "this is my beater". Pretty strong testimonial.

Yeah, I figured that Nathan, but it didn't seem as though too many members visit this forum. Also, I had not thought about that until after I posted here. :o

I'll ask one of the mods to combine the two over at the main discussion forum. :footinmou

Just sent a PM to Chris Reeve Knives about combining(or closing) this thread... :D

I use both a large and small Sebenza uas my EDC. Even though the handles are showing scratches the lock-up and edge holding is still great. If you can get over the price aspect they are made to be really used. The two Sebenzas that I have now are my 5th and 6th I've owned over the years. The other four I sold because I was not comfortable using a >$300 knife hard. I got over that with this last round of Sebenzas and only now do I appreciate how great these knives are.

Following Shadow 213's request and Nathan's suggestion, I tried to merge this thread and the one on the General Discussion forum but the system wouldn't let me (probably has more to do with my lack of computer savvy as much as anything else!). I will just close it here! Thanks for the heads-up.
Anne
