I was looking at a close-up picture of a Sebenza posted here and noticed that the screws were inserted with the hex slots on the opposite side of the lock. I then pulled out my Sebenza and see that they are on the same side of the lock. I must have put the Sebbie together that way the last time I had it apart. After thinking about it, I decided that the smooth side of the screws looks best with the "smooth" side of the knife. What do you all think? I also checked the CRK site and see that the slots are opposite the lock. Is there a reason for this?

Thanks.

Steve

Hmmmmm, I agree with you this would look better, especially if like myself, you have the clip insert installed, which means you already have one screw head showing on the lock side.

I think I will wait for Anne or Chris to reply before trying it though.

I do sometimes put the screws in "backwards". And I agree it does look better. But if you are putting your sebenza together the conventional way (not sliding the assembly in), then the bolts have to go in on the lock side. Hope this makes sense.

I guess I must be wierd, then. I kind of like the look of the screwheads offsetting the smooth expanse of titanium handle slab. The smooth side of the bolts on the lock side seem to "balance" against the lock and clip to me as well. I guess since I consider my Sebenza a very nice tool, the screwheads don't seem to bother me much, in fact, as a hardware geek, I think it's kind of cool. Then again, I admitted I was wierd, didn't I?

I agree with Don. The screw heads look so much better on the smooth side.
Call me wierd as well but I like the way it looks.
