I saw something on a post this week about S30V Sebenza's having an S marked on the blade.

Never having noticed this on my small left handed regular I took it apart for a quick once over and the blade has no markings at all. I then striped down my small lefthanded classic 2000 and nothing again.

My large leftie classic 2000 has got an S on the blade near the pivot hole.

All three of these knives are S30V acording to the paperwork, the oldest one being he beginning of august last year (small reg) and the newest (small classic) only a few weeks old (begining of may some time)

Do CRK only mark lage sebenza's ?

That's a good question. I recently purchased a small Sebbie without paperwork that the seller (a realiable one) claimed had a S-30V blade, but there isn't anything marked on the blade. All my other Sebbies are BG-42, so I don't have anything to compare against.

I'm more curious than upset.....

My small seb and the Mnandi I once had both had marked blades. This is a job for.... dun - da - da - duuuuuuunnnnnnnnnnn... Bridget!

I have a large classic with leather inserts. No markings on the blade designating S30V, but I have the paperwork, from CRK stating the steel.

The small Stars and Stripes Sebbie I just bought has a capitol "S" on the blade on the left side near the pivot hole. I was wondering what that meant.

I didn't notice anything when I cleaned mine, but I wasn't really looking either. My paperwork says S30v and it was born in Jan. 2003. Next time I clean it I'll check, and I'll snap a pic if there is an "S".

Bridget mailed me back to say that the first 300 hundred S30V blades were not marked and on some of the later others the S marking is very faint.

So there we go :)
