I've had my sebenza for little under a month now and have been completely happy with it. Doing some back track reading on the forums, I started to see lots of postings regarding people liking the regular sebenza blade over the classic.

From looking at multiple online sites, I want to say that my sebenza has the classic blade with the regular handles? However, I thought that all sebenzas that are regular, have the regular blade and all "classics have classics. " I'm so confused now lol!!! Could someone please shed some light on this for me?

I agree with rangerover. Looks like a Regular. To me the blade differences between the small Reg. vs. Classic Sebenzas are more subtle than in the large Sebenzas.

The small classic and regular are harder to tell apart, I'd say the grind is on the classic side of regular. :p

I agree, that looks like a regular blade to me, too. I've got 3 small regulars from '99 up through '07 and they all are very slightly different from each other, but definitely "regular" profiled compared to the classic blade profile. The most "regular" (wide blade, big belly) is my '99 BG42 blade. It's almost like a mini-RSK blade.

Well it seems to me at least, that the spine of the Classic is straight from the jimping to the point and the Regular has a slight angle at the main grind to the point. After looking at Sebs for the last year and drooling what seems like pints, and finally having my own, thats the only real difference Ive seen.

Looks like a Regular to me and a nice looking one at that.

The Regular is no longer part of CRK's standard offerings, so hang on to that one ;).

Just held my large regular Seb (older model BG-42) up to the photo of yours and blade is the same, so yes, you have a regular blade.

I only have a single large Regular, so take this with a grain of salt, but it seems to me that the regular and classic blades have become more alike in profile over the past few years. Five or so years ago the differences were more pronounced, now they seem pretty alike.

Thanks everyone for your help! I have a mini Ritter Grip and remember reading that the blade profiles were suppose to be very close. The mini was suppose to be "the poor mans sebenza." I thought my sebenza was suppose to have a little more "belly" and less point. Thanks for all the help everyone.

Actually, the blade curvature on the 707 directly matches the small sebenza. The ritter is way more drop point.

I agree with the other responces. Its definately a "Regular". I prefer this style of blade compared to the newer version. I always look on the spine of the blade and to me, there is a slight "Hump" in the middle. They also appear to have more belly in the blade. But for me, I look for the "Hump". Enjoy it, they are excellent knives and truely a work of art !!!
