Sebenza blade with a "C" stamp. Is this an S30V blade?

Hello all,
I have taken my large Sebenza apart for cleaning and discovered a "C" stamped on the blade. The card says the blade is S30V so I was wondering why it is stamped with a "C" instead of an "S" like my other S30V blades.
Thanks for your help!!

"H" on the handle stands for handmade. I am only familiar with "S", "C" or "V" stamps for the blade.

And while we're here whats "B" stand for?

Are you referring to a "B" stamped on the inside of the handle or on the blade. If it is on the inside of the handle this would indicate that it was made sometime from May to August. A "B" on the blade could theoretically stand for BG42 but I don't believe the ATS34 or BG42 blades had any markings on them.

I should have read this thread a little closer. I have taken my knife apart but I don't recall noticing a letter on the blade. I'll have to take a look and see. I got my large regular from a popular online store but it never had the box or birth cert. The dealer said it was S30V but I should check for myself.

Its on the inside of the handle, it has a B and 05 in there.

This signifies that the handle was manufactured in the second third (May to August) of 2005.

Based on the handle being made in 2005, you most likely have an S30V blade and it should have an "S" stamp. CRK transitioned from BG42 to S30V in 2002.

The 2nd third? Meaning they go by thirds as opposed to quarters? I always thought they labeled them A,B,C, or D, standing for the four quarters of the business year?

I have seen different posts describing both methods; thirds (a,b,c) and quarters (a,b,c,d). According to the following sticky thread CRK marks by thirds: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/639407-Chris-Reeves-Knives-History-Timeline-To-Date-!!!

Can anyone confirm which method CRK uses? I might have to disassemble a few of mine. I don't recall ever seeing a "D" but that doesn't mean they don't exist.
