Sebenza break in???

A few weeks ago I bought my first Sebenza, and I have since fallen in love with it. When I first got it, the detent on it was very strong and actually hurt a little to open and close. Now, the detent seems to not be as stiff when opening the blade and pushing the lock bar over to disengage the lock requires a lot less force. Is this the "break in period" that everyone seems to refer to when talking about Sebenzas(and other Chris Reeve knives)? Pardon me if posting this seems a bit anal. I've never spent this much money on a knife before.

The edge of the detent hole will round off a bit and make the knife easier to break free as you have experienced. Also the detent ball will wear a small smooth groove in the blade which will contribute to the knifes 'smoothness'. When the knife is new the detent ball runs along the stonewash, which adds a small amount of jitter. The washers wear in as well.

That and you have educated your grip and thumb. Or at least I know that was the case with me. The knife break in is the other part.
