I'd appreciate any thoughts on these pocket pouches. My small Sebenza didn't come with one. Thought for the money it might be worth it when carrying it in my pocket. Have any of you found them useful?

I have a small 21, and have always carried it in the pouch. Removed the clip & installed the insert. It rides really nice in the pocket with the pouch.

I love them. If not carrying clipped to your pocket. I feel they are a must. They do not come with plain janes, only UG / CGG / Inlays. I use mine most of the time, especially on new ones.

I have a belt sheath that is not a CRK but fits my Small Sebenza perfectly. I'll get one of these calfskin sheaths for when I want to carry it in my pocket.

I'm already getting scratches on my Small Sebenza - after only three weeks or so. I expect - even want - wear marks on my slipjoints. But I was hoping this CRK would never get a scratch. I suspect in five years I'll hold the knife in my hand, look at all the use it's received, and just be even more pleased with it than I already am.

Never used a pouch, but just took the clip off my small sebbie. I love the way the knife feels without the clip on. May need to order a pouch to start carrying.

What they all said - I have bought them for all my Sebenzas that didn't come with them. Another benefit: hugely reduces the amount of pocket and other crud that gets into the knife.

It's next to impossible to keep wear marks off of Ti, but IMO the Micarta versions( I think you have a Micarta) look better than any when wear does start showing on the Ti. I think you're right, and do think you'll be even more pleased with it in five years.

Yes, you are correct that I have the micarta small Sebenza. I've found the micarta helpful, as the titanium is more slippery than I had imagined it would be. This is my first (and so far only) titanium knife, and though I really do like it, I had no idea what to expect from the material. I'm certainly not opposed to use marks. It's something I expect. And thanks for mentioning that it's an issue related to titanium (and not necessarily my being careless with the knife - as I am not). I hadn't realized that titanium shows usage marks fairly readily. I'm mindful of how I carry and use my knives, so I was a bit surprised to see the light scratches and wear marks. Now I understand a bit better.

I found a few sheaths at home that hold my small Sebenza perfectly. One is a hard leather belt sheath, and the other is a soft nylon sheath that I can either slip in my pocket or wear on my belt. I also have a leather pocket sheath from KSF that fits the small Sebenza perfectly. I'm now thinking that there is no need to spend $25 for another sheath at this time.

I think it's more the blasting media they use that causes the more visible scratches than just because it's titanium. I had a 25 recently that was blasted with glass beads and although more "slick", the finish held up much better than the factory sand blasting. Through my experience, if you don't want wear marks on a CRK, you basically have to put it in a case and never touch it again since marks are basically inevitable even through the most careful of handling. I use the pouch for my small when at formal occasions, and it works very nicely. Over time the pouch will put its own character on the scales much like wearing it clipped and taking it in and out of your pocket over several months/years. Looks nice IMO.

Well, you folks have made me feel better already. I week ago I was wondering how I could be treating the knife so harshly to get all the use marks so quickly. I'm not going to worry about it again.

But it does raise the issue of those unique graphics. I can see why many who buy those put them in the safe and only look at them from time to time.

I'm partially of the opinion that for someone's very first CRK they should get one that's been used a little (not abused) and already has some marks on it because most folks generally freak out when that first mark pops up on their Sebenza. This way you can still appreciate a CRK by using it and taking it apart and not worry about the marks you put on it. Then once you're hooked, you can either sell it and buy a brand new or just buy a separate new one because there's also nothing like being the one and only owner of a CRK and breaking it in, using it, and all the character marks belong to you. I can see it on both sides. :)

My buddy has 2 or 3 Sebenzas and will not carry any of them. He sold off most every knife he owned to fund his Sebenzas and only has like a PM2 and a Leatherman left, but I really believe that he'll never really know the joy in owning a Sebenza until he carries and uses it everyday...but he's the type that will absolutely flip out if he ever got a mark on one, and IMO I couldn't own one if I worried that much about it. It's a knife, a tool...not a Faberge egg. ;)

Agreed! that is exactly why I want my next CRK to be used.
