I have a large classic micarta inlay seb. I was wanting to put a stronger more "grabby" clip on. Is this something you could help me with? thanks.

I have pondered this myself. I have a small Classic Seb and have not taken the plunge to try to make another clip for this knife. Mine is the inlayed Micarta version also.

I find that my clip grabs quite well and if anything maybe even too well for my tastes but my older clips did not and were made slightly differently on the BG42 Sebenza models.

Perhaps the main reason I have not messed with the remaking of this clip is the size of the hole drilled for the mount and also the fact that its inlayed down into the slab vs sitting up on top. Its just added work to get them fitted when made this way, and it also makes it more challenging to manipulate the clip bends so that the clip doesn't grab hold so well that it almost clips as well as suspenders do to hold your pants up.

About the only thing one could do is remake the clip, the same way or close in thicker stock but again I have not tried this. I suspect that the clip being thicker would mean part of it would stick up or rise up out of the recess but it may still be workable. I'll try anything once but due to the added machining and time to make the thing work and fit the recess, and since its thicker and hard to bend it could be difficult particularly since I have not had much luck hitting those inlays just right on with others I have done, it would probably me a more expensive clip than the standard ones you see me doing.

Thanks for the reply. I might try getting a new clip first. This one is brand new, and the clip doesnt grab well enough for my tastes. I do a lot of mountain biking, hiking, and climbing, so i need to make sure it won't budge. I absolutely love the knife, the clip is the only thing i'm not impressed with.

Maybe you should get a longer lanyard with a snap shackle or carbiner that clips to you.

Have you tried rebending the clip?? It may have gotten caught once and bent out a little. Take your clip off and carefully bend it back and you should be able to make it as tight as you want. This is something a lot of guys over in the CRK subforum talk about doing.
Just a thought.
