Is the detent bearing on the Sebenza ceramic or another material?
Anyone know....?

Anne Reeve said in a post in KF.com that the new bearings are made of ceramic.

The newer balls are ceramic, and the older ones are hardended 440C.

The new ones.....
Would that be the ones with BG-42?
Any idea when they started using ceramic?
I have the opportunity to acquire a newer model Sebenza(made Oct 98) and I am curious if it would have the ceramic detent.

To address wear on the ball in the detent for a moment. Up till about six months ago, we used hardened 440C ball bearings. That was the technology available at the time. After quite a bit of searching, I have found ceramic balls that wear much better (and are about 40 times more expensive!)

When did they start using ceramic? Was their a problem with wear with the 440C one's?
