Howdy
Upon disassembly of my 21, I ran into an "issue".
I was doing a quick one (only blade removal) and when I pulled the blade out, the lockbar fell onto the big washer.
And then after I let it out of that, it fell between the handle scale and the standoff for the stop-pin.

I know how precise everything is, and I was hoping that these "pinches" wasn't enough to hurt anything.
I inspected it, and it looked OK.
Maybe a shiny spot or something but no bends or cuts in it.

What do you think?

Have you tried putting it back together? Does it feel the same?

If so, it's fine. If not, CRK will fix you up!:)

As BB said have you tried to put it back together. Are you sure the washer is completely flat ?

Several YouTube vids are out there on light sanding a washer for various performance issues.

If it was my knife I would send it to CRK. They have just about the best CS in the knife industry. I've sent them knives in the past that I did not buy from them. Did not charge anything but return shipping and a spa treatment on one.

If you have a large fine stone, in an figure eight motion, lightly hone the washer to see if it has any high spots to determine if it was pinched with damages. Do, both sides to ensure it's still flat.

I DID put it back together. Everything feels like its supposed to.....
Maybe I'm just worrying too much?

If it acts fine, don't think twice about using it. I doubt you did much to it at all as you would notice anything that is a serious problem very quick.

FOR THE FUTURE:
You are suppose to (relieve pressure)* on the blade as you pull the blade out.
* - By pushing the lock lug a little.

I don't understand "CRK forum". Isn't this the forum for CRK discussions? So, isn't this, here, the CRK forum? What other forum, if any, are you talking about?

This thread started in General discussion and was later moved here by a mod.

Yeah if something were wrong you should be able to feel and or see it

Ive also seen people doing the polishing/sanding method to get a smoother action. I do the same thing but with a different technique.

I use a dremel, small buffing wheel and green compound, it takes about the same amount of time. But the advantage is its smoother and you dont remove nearly as much washer material.
This way makes more sense to me.
