Ok Sebenzanistas -

Inspired by the thread on getting the action on my small seb smooth, I broke down the knife. The brass washers were sort of stuck to the blade, but seemed a bit stuck to the handle too.

Upon inspecting the brass washers and on both sides and the marks left on the handle, I have a question:

Is the blade supposed to stick to the washers, with the washers revolving against the inside of the Ti handle? Or is the washer supposed to remain stationary against the handle, and the blade slides smoothly against the inside of the washers?

I think the latter, but don't know. Do you guys lube both sides of the washers or just one side?

Thanks in advance.

I believe the washers should remain fairly stationary. I lube the inside of the washers, the side that contacts the blade. As far as sticking, the washers usualy end up with some of the lube squeezed under or over the side when the pivot is tightened down. This would also help to keep them in place, especially if using a grease. Mine open with a gentle push of the thumb, and just fall into place with that bank vault lock!:D

Man it is a thing of beauty to watch that blade open up and hear that sound of the lock engaging.........PURE CONFIDENCE!!:D  :D

btw, I also enjoy closing the blade and feeling that "Sebenza Suck" take over for the last 1/4" of travel and just pull the blade home and watch how the precision engineered lock bar and ball bearing detent just line up perfectly to keep enough tension on the blade to hold it in place.:D  :D

Yeah, yeah..............and I gave up drinking 7 years ago!
