I haven't got one yet. I'm hoping by Christmas.
I was wondering today at work. Has anyone ever had Ti inlays put in the scales either with a contrasting texture or color ? Personally I would go for raw Ti just a contrasting configuration.

Or links if this has been discussed already.

People have pimped their CRK's themselves adding Ti or Bronze Inlays. It's something CRK will not do though.

Do you mean like this, this is one of ten Inkosi"s that were offered in a lottery.
They do offer reverse silver contrast Ti slabs

Yes
Nice. Bronze but without the weight in this case.
For me I wold go for texture and not color because I couldn't help using it as a working knife and would scratch off the color eventually. I was originally going to go for Micarta inlay . . . then ebony . . . practical and more classic . . . then it hit me that since I am also looking for more of a fat handled / sculpted Ti handled knife as well maybe I could get roughly the equivalent by getting raw textured Ti inlays.

Thanks for the education

I have seen some modified CRKs where guys have textured the scales by removing material (and occasionally multi-tone anodization jobs). Of the few I have handled, they did enhance grip (and hot spots), but the reduction in material never suited my larger hands (nor did the hot spots).

Personally, I feel that the stock micarta is ideal in girth and grip. If I ever find myself lacking grip, it's a sign that I'm using the wrong knife. I don't feel like a folder needs to be the best for every job, just good enough to do most small jobs (a big job usually gets a specialized tool ;) ).
