Sebenza engraving

I'm sure that I could find this out through CRK but I hate to bother them until I've the cash to spend.

Does anyone know if the engraving offered by CRK is anodized? I'm not talking about the designs but just simple monograms , date etc.

I'm a reformed drunk of nearly two years and would like the date of my first full day sober engraved on a sebenza. I hope it to be a constant reminder of where I've been and something I can hold onto for a lifetime. Incidentally, when I can finally afford to buy this knife , it will be my first sebbie.
 
Congrats on your sobriety I have about seven years. I feel better since I put the bottle away. Those first couple weeks can be rough. Anyway the engaving I don't believe is anodized but they will work with you to get unique graphic to your specifications. I wish I had a better answer but the best way is to call CRK. They are very good about working with you. It would probably take a couple months (or longer) to get the knife even if you ordered it. Save a hundred a month (heck I could spend that in a weekend of drinking in those years) and by the time it's ready, so will your checkbook. That's a good idea you have, but carry the knife and use it. When you use it you will be reminded of where you came from. You might do better with the engraving, I think it's more durable and I think you want a knife like that with you. A fancy anodized one you might be reluctant to carry. But that's up to you. Call CRK that's what they are there for for. ;)
 
Congratulations on your two great years. I'm working on my 19th year of sobriety. I like your idea of getting the date of your first day engraved. I think I'll look into having one of my Sebenzas engraved with my date.
 
That is sooo cool !!! I'm happy you got the nads to give up the drink! I went in for a hernia operation Feb.27th and quit the beer and ciggs while in the hospital for 4 days..I promise I smelled nicotine in my sweat while going through withdraw ls!!! I have slipped acouple times on the smokes but all in all I'm still free...Sorry to ramble on..I don't get to brag on this subject much! oh..get your knife engraved and carry it proudly!! just call Anne and tell her what your wanting.

Very cool 3crom! I've given up smoking so many times I've lost count. Hang in there Bud!

BTW, my Girlfriend presented me with an engraved small Sebenza just a few days ago! It is beautiful. The only bummer is that they requested the date of the 2 year anniversary instead of the first day sober but, the anniversary was very special as we've guests from New Orleans staying with us (they celebrated with vodka, yuck!) so the issue is minor.
