I made a new friend on the forum this week. Eric, aka eafisher, and I traded some blades. I got his Sebenza and he got my Brous. But, before he shipped the Sebbie to me, he refinished it for me. I've owned a few Sebs over the years. I've always liked them a lot. However, it always pained me that the beadblasted finish scuffed so easily. So, he refinished the frame with Scotchbrite and Flitz for the washers & pivot. Not only does it look fantastic, it is possibly the smoothest Sebenza I have ever held. I've read threads on Sebbie mods, but always been wary of trying them myself for fear of screwing up a Seb. I really owe Eric a debt of gratitude for helping me get the the perfect Sebenza. Here are some photos, so you can see the before and after. Looks like more of a brushed satin finish now. Spectacular, I think.

Yeah, he's a friend of mine too. :)

Great looking piece.

I glass blasted my 25 (which is no longer mine)

I really don't like the sand blasted finish that CRK uses.

After blasting

And couple of clips that I did for a fellow member. The darker one was darkened before I got it, my guess is that it was done with OxyClean.

Yeah, Eric is a great guy and he did great work for me. I like that look, too. I know a lot of people like the gritty feel of a stock Sebenza, but I think anyone can appreciate what it feels like in hand when refinished. I've carried it continuously since then and also found that it is far less prone to marks on the frame. Oh sure, it will still scuff, but nowhere near as easily and nowhere near as pronounced.
