The title sums it all up. There is a great 3-part video on YouTube by a member here of the Umnumzaan in a comprehensive field test. So, the question looms......has there ever been done a Sebenza field test? One were it was put to its limits and either excelled or went down trying? Some consider the Sebenza (large or small) not to be a tactical nor a hard use knife but more of a utility knife. Some even consider it a gentleman's knife. Yet a knife with a reputation of a "bank vault" lock-up seems to me like it can be much more. So to the fellow owners/ users, how does this knife hold up in terms of general hard usage? Is it better reserved for filleting, food preparation, box-opening, and letter ripping? Its obvious it is no prybar but are there any personal real stories of it being put to hard use and it came out with flying colors? Granted its no SNG but to me it seems much more substantial than one's typical folder. Look forward to thoughts/comments. Thanks

Not really a field use test, but.

I have dropped my Sebenza from 3 Meters onto concrete, only the screws came lose, used it on the farm to cut water pump pipes, tires, feedbags, one can baton any knife using proper technique and there is no reason to baton large pieces of wood as illustrated by Jeff Randall and others in wilderness and survival section (this can depend on your uses). There are however some that have batoned their Sebenza due to winter conditions.

I have cut tins, others as well and I have cut CV joint oil housing caps.

Most of the things can be searched for but in my experience the Sebenza holds up just fine.

Coincidentally I just watched the three part review among other videos regarding the "use" of the Umnumzaan a day or two ago. Lots of useful info out on the interwebs :)

I learned that the Umnumzaans glass breaker was designed specifically for auto glass - a big plus in my line of work.

I'm sure there has to be some type of review/video on the Sebenza in the field since they have been around for 20 more years than the Umnumzaan. I know gajinoz over in Aussieland uses his like he stole it and his Sebenza looks great...
