Gents,

Love my five sebenzas. I normally carry the large classic but sometimes the Umnum.

But, I wonder if there is anything like a sebenza flipper?

Anybody ever heard of such a thing?

Thanks,

Slim

I don't think that those exist...you could probs get a custom blade for it but production they don't exist.

I've heard of Sebenzas being flipped, but never a Sebenza Flipper. :D

Possibly on the horizon? Doubt it.

OH,

Yep, I sure haven't seen one. Know of another mfg that has anything similar to the sebenza? I have never had anything fit my hand or be as "right" to use as my large classic but would like to fiddle around with something like the large classic with a flipper.

BTW, had a Hinderer flipper and traded it off. Too big, heavy and not as handy as the Sebenza. I have a Kershaw 1775 (only flipper I now own) which seems to be a good "flipper" but is too small for me and just doesn't feel right.

Oh well....

Part of the magic of that butter smoothness in opening and closing is the constant tension of the lock bar on the blade, combined with the pivot bushing system, makes a flipper Sebenza improbable.

You need a loosey goosey pivot for a fast flipper.

I'm not a big fan of "flippers" personally and I certainly don't want to see one on any CR knife. I don't see it happening but you never know, CRK might do a collaboration of some sort.

I asked Chris when I last spoke to him on the phone and inquired about possible future CRK such as flippers, slip joints, etc. He told me they have already been done and he is not looking to rehash the past. CRK is about future innovations. I definitely like what I heard. At the time, he was finishing up the Ti-Loc. I can only imagine what new knife Chris has up his sleeves.

I would very much like to see a CRK slipjoint along the lines of the Mnandi.

Well, I just finished a reasonably thorough search for framelock flippers and only found the RJ Martin Overkill to be a possible replacement for the Sebenzas. So, I'm in need of a change so I put the Umnum back in the box and put the large classic in my pocket. Life is good!

Not a fan of flippers. Do I think CRK will make a flipper? I don't know. I wouldn't put anything past them, but I wouldn't be interested in a CRK flipper.

Ok....got a rj martin overkill and it goes into my pocket today. We'll see if it can replace the Sebenza. My most common carry knife is a large sebbie that I got used over ten years ago. It has had many challengers and defeated them all. I'll let y'all know how it turns out.

I just checked out the RJ Martin Overkill...........Your Sebenza has nothing to worry about and will knock this puppy out of your pocket in no time.

I think the closest you will come to a CRK slipjoint is the New Ti-Lock. Its basically a slipjoint with the backspring on the blade instead of....well....the back....lol...........I just picked up one and I must say......I Am Mighty Impressed......Will do a review over the weekend and will be Picture Heavy.

The Ti lock does look like a nice interesting piece but there are a few things I don't like about it. I know I would just never carry that knife so that sort of kicks it out the window for me.......
