Sebenza front to back 'pop'?

This will be hard to explain...
Does anyone's sebenza 21, large or small, have this tiny 'pop' of what seems to be front to back play during opening and closing? Not necessarily 'play' but just a very very quick split second before it seems to be on track of open and close? This seems to happen to all of mine. Some worse than others it drives me crazy. If I hold the tip, not closed or locked, I can feel them all almost rattle back to front. I'm probably out of my mind, im fully aware of this, but I can't be the only one that has noticed this... thanks.

I had a large 21 loaner for a week recently and it did this. Checked my zt's , spydercos and other folders and none of them did this.
I still fell in love with the knife and I am saving up for one

My two large lefty 21's do this. Some of my other brands also do it. To me, it's so minor and doesn't affect anything so I'm fine with it.

Is it a noise you are hearing, feeling some sort of popping, because I really don't understand your question.
What is front to back play??????? Is that the same as up/down play? How close is the blade to being closed when you experience this popping?
Is it a rattle or a pop???????
Are you maybe feeling/hearing the detent ball hitting the edge of the detent hole, is the blade that close to being closed? Is it happening throughout the travel of the blade from closed to fully open or is it just in one particular position?
Have you tried to put just a touch of grease on the detent path on the blade?
I honestly don't know if any of mine have this issue, maybe they do and I just don't know it. I'd really be interested in a detailed explanation to see if I can emulate the same thing.

Im not understanding the question as well but maybe you r referring when opening blade it rides on the ceramic detend and just before it opens completely and locks, it falls out of the detent ball and then it locks. Sorta of like a two tone click if performed slowly. They only thing i can think of in terms of my understanding of your question.

If thats is what you meant then pretty much all frame locks will do that if you really look for it.

Ok here we go... this is super tough to explain. Open all your sebenzas up half way or 3 quarters, hold the very very tip, don't move the blade open or closed, just simply ever so slightly wiggle it in the motion of open and closed, but do not actually move the blade. I feel a very very slight , almost rattle before it moves in either direction. It on all 5 of my sebenzas

Ahhhh yup have had a few that do and a few that dont. If i remember correct it happens mostly on free falling sebenzas not the stiffer ones.

He's talking about slop when moving the blade around the pivot pin, caused by the pivot bushing being slightly narrower diameter than the hole it goes through.

If thats the case then this is news to me. I have not experienced from over a dozen CRK i have owned

That's exactly what it is... it happens a few days after I clean and reassemble it. Now that I know I'm not the only one.. hell im fine

I sure do. I do exactly what Tim reeve does in his video just clean everything a bit better if course. It's nothing big at all. Really most people wouldn't even notice I'm sure but I'm knife in hand at all times. Once I noticed it i kinda took it and ran with it in my mind is all. As long as it's not just mine I'm om

Well, I tried to emulate it on mine, and either I don't have a clue or it's not happening. On some, if I hold the tip of the knife, the handle moves on its own. On the few that don't move, for the life of me, I can't feel any rattle. If I shake it too much, the handle moves.
Maybe the lefty's don't have this feature , once again, you righties get all the little extras

I should have noted this as well,,, I hard use all my sebenzas. I don't mistreat them in any way, but in no way do they sit in a showcase and never get use. This seems to happen a couple weeks after carry. Once fully broken in I guess you could say.

This happens on the non-pivot bushing models as well, as I have a small Inkosi that does this, and had a large Inkosi that did it as well.

My theory is that this happens with the broken in models (as stated above), as the new ones have more side-to-side friction keeping them from doing it in the beginning. While I don't polish my washers, the small Inkosi I have is very broken in. Even so, it is such a tiny movement that it doesn't really bother me.

Also, if this is strictly vertical play, than I don't think it would get much worse later on. It's more like it has to loosen up enough laterally to even notice the vertical movement.
