I've read nothing but for high praise for Sebenzas since I started visiting this forum but the price has kept me away.

Well, I finally took a deep breath and ordered a Small Classic with Desert Ironwood inlays over the internet. It arrived today. OMG! It certainly lives up to its reputation. The craftsmanship, quality of the materials, I could go on and on.

I've never seen a more secure engagment of the lock-up and the edge...is this what you guys refer to when you say 'scary sharp'. It's built like a tank yet almost jewel-like in its precision and fit and finish.

It's a lot of money for a knife but it's hard to believe someone could build a better one. I guess you can tell I like it!

hahha, people are always a bit skeptical, but when you actually pull the triugger and get one n your hands, and use it you understand....Even more so if you have had tons of other knives before it to compare it too...Simplicity and beauty is what makes the sebenza so nice, and attention to detail...Congrats on your new knife!

Which seller did you purchase it from? I'm very curious myself. . .

I bought it from Sooner State Knives. I paid full list but it's new, in the box, with all the papers and tool. I have some other knives to compare it to, Spyderco, Benchmade, even a William Henry or two. They're all fine knives to be sure, but the Sebenza is up there with the WHs in quality and eye appeal, but it's a knife I feel I can actually carry and use with confidence.

Sooner State knives is a good compnay to deal with...I have only used them once in the past but was ahppy...I got my seb from knifeart.com, and they threw in a bag of gourmet cookies, lol...a nice suprise when I opened the package...

K20c - I'm with you man - haven't found a folder yet that can beat a Seb out of my folder more than a day or two.

Swedgie -
Keep an eye on the Exchange Here - great deals from time to time.

In fact - there was a Large regular on sale a few days ago by fulloflead - great deal - and might still be there ;)..

If you want to go with an authorized Dealer though - check in with Plaza Cutlery - I have never had anything but a great experience when purchasing from those folks.

Be Well,

sp

I am really glad you found a folder that floats your boat. I tried the Sebenza - sold it - will take my Benchmade 710 M2 any day of the week.

The point (no pun intended) - to each their own.

I'm anxiously waiting on a regular LH B-42 Sebenza I just purchased from a fourm member. I already own a bark ivory Mnandi to edc when I dress up. Chris Reeves knifes IMHO are the benchmark for production knifes.

The Classics w/wood inlays are my absolute favorites, though I prefer the large. You have one of the ,if not the , finest production knife one can slip into their pocket.:thumbup::thumbup:

I pulled the trigger on a small regular with two thumbstuds and find that I prefer my benchmades and regret the purchase. The Benchmades open more easily and smoothly and I don't worry about the knife opening in my pocket since if the knife opens a bit, the axis lock will pull it closed. Plus, the benchmades (whether an S30V 940, D2 710 or 707 or 154CM 730) all seem to cut better better than the Sebenza and are easier to sharpen. Guess, there's something wrong with me. I should probably buy a membership so I can sell it on the boards.
