I've been surf fishing a lot lately, and have my large classic in my pocket while wading in the water. Today, for instance, it was submerged for nearly 3 hours. What are the implications for my knife of the salt water? I did see some small rust spots on the blade today when I got home and was cleaning the fish, but the spots wiped off easily with a rag and firm pressure. I have the S30V steel.

As long as you give it a good wash in fresh water ASAP afterwards and dry it off you should have no problems. Great thing about the Sebbie is you can take it apart easily. Wash, dry, relube and away you go. Maybe you could give it a good wipe with a Tuff Cloth afterwards as well.

Oh the horror ! I can't imagine taking one of my sebs in saltwater  Yes I agree, take it and give it a thorough cleaning, I use hot soapy water and then apply some tuf-glide, I have good luck with hoppe's gun oil also.
