I've had my heart set on a large 21 with micarta inlays for sometime now. Does the micarta provide a significantly better grip than the other inlays that are offered? I plan to carry the knife as my EDC so it will see lots of use. I'm torn between the micarta because I believe it to be "durable" and more of a worker knife than the other inlays offered; on the other hand I find that the other inlays offered are a bit more aesthetically pleasing but I'm worried about how the finish will hold up to heavy use?

yes, in my opinion it does provide better grip than any other inlay.

the micarta not only looks good, but feels great. the wood versions look good, but i am reluctant to use it as hard because they are inherently more fragile. not that the wood versions are weak, but not as strong as micarta.

Thanks, I'm most likely going to stick with micarta inlays. I don't think the pictures of it online at dealers like newgraham, CRK, or anywhere else I've seen it really do it justice. Everytime I see a picture of a micarta inlay on here or a video on youtube featuring one I think, "wow, that looks great".
