I was just wondering where I could find out more about them, and possibly how to order one;) I am torn between a Strider or possibly a Sebenza if I can find out more...:(

If you want some help deciding on which to pick,
Let us know what your looking for in a knife and what you're going to use it for.
Also, Buck makes a FAR less expensive copy of the Strider folder, and it's built really well, and it looks about the same.
AS for the Sebenza there are also less expensive framelocks around, most notably Benchmade's. (my favorite production framelock, but not the only one).
I'm not trying to discourage from buying one of those knives, but it sounds like you might not know about all your options.
GOOD LUCK!!!

Apodmia, welcome to Bladeforums.

The Sebenza is a medium-sized folder, optimized for cutting, pretty expensive but known for top materials and manufacturing. Chris Reeve also makes a line of one-piece fixed blades. Read through his website and see the CRK forum here.

Sebenzas themselves are famed for the flamewars that start up when people ask about them :D Some of us like them and others wonder why anyone would pay so much for one.

Strider also make great folders, like the AR and SnG. Their reputation was built on their fixed blades, which are extremely heavy-duty. Their website will give you more information. They no longer have a forum at Bladeforums.

Are you looking for a particular knife style or function, or are you just curious about high quality knives?

If you want a knife that will fillet a tank and has seen the war then Strider.
Or if you want a finer cutting tool that has seen the war then Chris Reeve.

That sounds like an ad for Emerson knives.
Substitute CQC7 for Strider and CR for Commander.......
After all, he has been around a long time, and I think he has the most military experience out of all of them..... I think

I want a knife that will cut great, is really tuff, and won't scare the crap out of people...

In that case go with a small Sebenza. I have two one is plain and the other has a unique graphic. The small Sebbie has a blade that is just under 3" and is designed exactly like it's big brother. The small Sebbie can do 98% of what the large one can do and it is better suited for day to day carry and use, IMO.

Small Sebenza all the way, it cuts better than almost anything out there. The Strider is probaly tougher, probaly tougher than you'll need, but it's not very sheeple friendly.

Just to put things in perspective...

Walking Man , I've never seen the Emerson in person (I dont get out much), But it sounds like a fair analogy.

edit for spelling

I suggest that before you look at Small Sebbie, look at the small Buck Strider. It is about as small as the small sebbie (I think) and still as tough as nails.
I'm not even sure it's still produced.
Does Strider make a small model?

I would suggest that you do a lot of reading before you spend so you are sure you made the right decision.

By the way, a very important question is:

HOW MUCH DO YOU WANT TO SPEND?
You don't have to answer here, it really is your business, but it might help us to help you better.

The Buck/Strider is similar in design to a Sebenza, with the same blade profile and open back handle, but the Buck is a massive linerlock with G-10 handle slabs. The Sebenza is much slimmer with its titanium frame.

BUY BOTH! You won't be disapointed. If you are disappointed sell them to me! (at a good price of course... ;) )
