Sebenza Lanyard Pin Question

So, I have a question concerning the lanyard pin on my sebbies. How can I keep the pin in by itself without putting a screw in or tying a short piece of paracord through the small hole? I've searched the forum and web, and can't find anything else besides those two options. What do you guys do? Or have any other suggestions? Thanks in advance!

I know this is not what you really want to hear but I just took mine out as the older Sebenzas dit not have the pin. Apart from that, you might try superglue?

I recently bought an EDC Seb off the exchange here, and the seller had used a interesting solution similar to one of your options. He threaded a nylon cord in through the pin hole, cut the cord off close on both sides, then heat fused the ends very close to the pin. The fused ends keep the pin in place between the slabs, and you can only see the burnt cord when looking closely at the butt end of the handle. Not a perfect solution, but until CRK provides a pin with "shoulders" like the small version it works.

I've been using my worn out umnumzaan Orings to hold mine in. But any small Orings would work.

Excuse the crappy pic. But you get the idea.

Too bad you didn't post this question a week ago. Maybe I wouldn't have lost my lanyard pin.

Thanks for the great ideas though, hopefully I find it soon so I can try out the o-ring trick!

These are some great ideas guys. I will not, however, EVER superglue something to any of my sebenza's. Lol I wouldn't even open up a tube of superglue within a 10ft radius of them.

I lost mine too, I didn't realize that removing the lanyard would allow the pin to slid out. Knucklehead move on my part.

Go to ace hardware. They have #63 orings that fit lik they were made for it. They sell them individually for 20 cents each.

I put a small zip tie through it, cleaned it up so it slid under the scales. The o- ring looks better though.

Heat shrink tubing, slide a piece on, heat it up and then cut off enough from each side to fit through the slabs. It'll keep it from falling out and shaking around, also heat shrink comes in many colors. You can get it on line, in Radio Shack or Home Depot.

Now there's an idea! I'm guessing it would look a little cleaner then the Orings.

Definitely going to try the o-rings and heat shrink. I believe I have the correct tubing for it, so that's my next project. Thanks again guys!

Why not remove the pin when you remove the lanyard? Without a lanyard attached, the pin is just an extra part that serves no purpose.

Actually, I'm not sure that the lanyard pin is necessary. Still have mine, though, but if it gets lost you can still put lanyard through the holes.
