Sebenza Lanyard pin question

I apologize for asking a silly question. I'm new to the world of sebenzas. I recently purchased a large sebenza from the forums. I can see what all the talk is about. Anyway, the previous owner had removed the lanyard and pin for their use. I decided I'd like to use it with the lanyard. So I disassembled and reattached it. I wanted to ask you more experienced folks if the lanyard pin should be loose and free rotating? If so then I guess everything is good. My lanyard pin rotates with easy. If I turn the knife over the lanyard flops toward which ever direction gravity pulls it. The reason I ask is because in videos I've seen there doesn't see to be that much play in the lanyard pin. I took the knife apart again to see if I missed something when I put the pin back in but didn't see anything. Is this normal?

Thanks in advance for indulging my simple question.

Since we are on the subject of lanyards and sebenza's, I have a regular with the lanyard tied to the knife but would like the lanyard/pin set-up instead. Will that system work on the "regular.......? thx

The lanyard pin fits and works the same in both the Regular and Classic/21 Sebenzas as well as the Umnumzaan. There is a difference in size for the small and large knives but the function is the same.

I tend to use a size 1 McGizmo clip for the lanyard pin as it makes removing and attaching it much easier.

Haze- Is the size 1 the 20mm size? I think you're going to get bombarded with clip, lanyard and tool request right when your color changes :p

Aye, the number 1 clip is the 20mm size. I use a number 3 (35mm) for the other end of the lanyard that clips to a belt loop or the lip of a pocket etc.

The lanyard pin will fit any open-frame knife with a 3/16" lanyard hole. The new Emersons with standoffs are a good example. ProTech's TR-3 "Integrity" is another. IMO it's the best way to attach a lanyard.

While we a talking about this, is it possible to get the blue anodized lanyard pin for a Seb.25? I really like the looks of the blue thumb lug and lanyard pin.

Somebody has to say it. You'll have to drill a hole in the 25 for the lanyard pin, it doesn't come with one.

You could add a lanyard bead with the same color.:)

Thank you for answering my stupid question regardless of how sarcastic your answer was.
Sorry, having thick skin results in a lack of tact. It was not my intention to be sarcastic. The question really wasn't stupid. I suppose my answer was.
