Howdy folks.

Took my Sebenza apart yesterday.
Noticed this little "dimple" on the lockbar face.
As you can see, it's not much. Almost nothing.
I'm not worried about it now, because it's literally doing nothing, but I just want to make sure its not going to turn into something crazier.

Carried every single day since thanksgiving 2014.

Does this look normal to you folks? This is my first Ti framelock. This shiny spot is where the blade tang engages. Right after it falls off the detent ball.
I saw this and got scared :o

Totally normal and will become larger and more noticeable with use and as the knife breaks in. No worries.

Awesome. Thanks.
And thanks for telling me it will get bigger too. :D
I would have freaked if I saw it get bigger without hearing that.
Anybody have any pictures of their lock faces to still make me feel better?:)

I travelling right now, or would post pics. The majority of wear happens in the first while, as that corner rounds off a bit more, the wear becomes exponentially less and less and seems to stabilize at some point.

Completely normal. Every sebenza I have owned that has been opened and close several times has it.

The one I had last year was a few years old with daily use and it looked the same. It is minimal wear and the lock bar treatment will keep it functioning just fine. That is nothing compared to what most framelocks look like after use.

I'm assuming that if it wasn't treated, it would have a big gouge?

Not with the lock geometry they have either. It has a large contact area and close to perfect engagement, compared to strider for example. Also very strong lock up but at a steeper angle and just the tip of the lock bar. Usually wearing in a good 1/2 mm before it settles. There are alot of factors. Its all good.
