When you pull the blade out of your sebenza does the lock bar come all the way over and touch the other handle slab or is there a space? Mine does not touch, there is about a sixteenth inch of space.

It goes all the way over on my large and there is space left on my small. As long as lockup is solid it's fine.

Yeah, and they don't wear like most framelocks.
CRK goes an extra mile and puts an oxide layer on the lockface. Mine hasn't changed a bit since I bought it three years ago.

The heat treating of the lockbar is another example of all the little touches that go into making the Sebenza such a great knife.

Sould be about 50-75% of the way across the tang.
Once I mistakenly got some grease on the tang/lockbar interface of my small, and the lockbar was sliding to about 90% of the way across the tang when it locked. That caused it to really wedge the lockbar in, and it grated when I tried to disengage the lock. I wiped the grease off and after a few cycles it was back to normal.
So as long as you can disengage the lock, I'd say you're fine.

He's talking about if you take the blade out of the handles

Sounds about perfect to me. I had one that did touch the opposite side and CR fixed it under warranty. Now it is about 50-60%. I'm not convinced that it would have been a problem but it bothered me (and CR apparently) enough that they acted on it. Excellent service.

Once you pull the blade out of the handles, it matters not how close the lock bar comes to the opposite scales, as long as you don't hear it bang against the scale. (Never heard of that happening)

Sounds as if it is fine.
