Sebenza Micarta vs Wood Inlays

It looks like the micarta inlay Sebs costs more than the wood inlay Sebs with polished titanium. Seems counter intuitive since micarta is synthetic material and wood is natural. Besides aesthetics, what are the pros and cons of wood vs. micarta?

Same price actually. Maybe you were looking at a small with wood inlays and thought it was a large?

I haven't tried an inlay yet, but I'm looking at micarta so I won't have to worry about scratches or dings as much. I might be mistaken, but it's my understanding that crk will refinish a beat up micarta inlayed handle but not one with wood inlays.

Yeah I didn't check the price list from CRK. I see what I did - I was looking at the price of a micarta with a polished blade, which costs more. Took me a minute to see lol!

I assume the polished Ti/wood inlay could wear more easily than the regular Ti with micarta. But the polished Ti looks so good! I plan on carrying the knife so it's hard to decide!

I have both, and the wood inlay models do show scratches more easily. The micarta is a more hard use work knife IMO. They both have flawless fit and finish, it really comes down to a preference of gent knife vs more utility/tactical knife. (However the wood knives will still take all you can give out!)
I have 8 wood inlay sebenzas right now, and one micarta. That gives you my preference:)

At the cutlery I purchased my sebenza from, had many models to choose from.

originally I was there to look at regular 21 small, micarta caught my eye, but the wood inlay made my hands happy. I prefer the smooth grip and the looks are amazing.

I would get micarta if I knew I would be using sebenza with wet/sweaty hands, but I think wood also provides grip (took hiking many times) and never slipped.

all 3 of my CRKs are wood inlays.

the polished Ti is cool too, I didnt know non wood wasnt polished.
Now that I looked at regulars and saw it waa more grainy I prefer polish.

Over time wood can shrink. Not likely but does happen. I had one quite a few years ago that had to be sent back to the factory. They took care of it but it bugged me that it happened. BHQ has an exclusive on carbon fiber inlayed Sebs and Insingo's. Another cool option to micarta.
