I've been in a folder-funk lately. I remember when I received my first Sebenza and looking at that folder for the first time. I said; "What else do I need?" Need I go on? Thanks, Chris Reeve!

I've had my very first, large classic micarta, for only a couple days. I've taken it apart and put it back together three times. After that sort of amateur attention, the blade still centers so perfectly you can't get a credit card between blade and frame on either side... yet you can clearly see light on each side - that blade's not touching anything. Amazing.

It's going to be hard to get into that "I need a new knife because..." for a long time, I think.

once i purchased my first sebbie, i realized i was able to stop buying knives to fix that itch. i was finally able to start collecting.

I have kept on buying knives after my Sebenzas but I don't know why. The Sebenza is the one I compare all other knives to and I know that is not fair. I think I have realized the Sebenza is the one.BTW, my Small Classic reground by Tom Krein is perfect. I also have an Ultimate Caper by Tom and a Wharncliffe on the way. Tom's Ultimate Caper is unbelievable. If he evers makes a folder it could replace the Sebenza, maybe.

RKH---Thanks. What about a BRK&T folder?
Also, I had no idea that the Sebenza had that unique bushing system until I found BF. Thanks, Gentlemen!

I have seen comments about a folder by BRKT but I don't think they have one yet.I would like one if the make it.I have a Ouperator made STR and it is made with 1095 steel and STR said he got it from Mike Stewart of BRKT if my memory serves me right. It is a fine folder. I need to get one of BRKT's fixed blades as I have heard and read nothing but good reports on them.

I own three. It was four but I gave one to my son about two years ago. The blade grind/edge profile on the older Sebbies are much better than current Sebbies. May be due to S30v versus BG42 and ATS34 on older ones. Bought my first one in 1989 or 1990. I bought the Small Classic about a year maybe two and the edge was way too thick and sent it to Tom for regrind. Now it is one of my best and sharpest folder but my Ouperator by STR is very sharp, too.

THREE!! I agree. My first BG-42 felt sharper. And ATS-34 is a darn good steel! Thanks!

Congrats Lycosa!

Same feeling the first time I held one...then I got it:thumbup:

Like em so much I Don't think I would NEED the Busse folder even if it ever did come to be:eek::p

Thanks, Ken44!! Yea, who needs a Busse folder?
Did I just say that?
Thanks, Bro.

That's a good comment & I think that's true for me. I've had 3 different Sebs & when I got my last one (A small classic micarta model), my collection has increased nicely in both size & quality. I was/am no longer looking for a great user, now I can concentrate on what looks good & that I like. I no longer look for folders that I want/need to carry, just ones I enjoy now.
