I just picked up a large 21, birthdate of 2-1-2011 and it says the steel is S35VN. It looks like the switch has been made over from S30V. I'm pretty excited to try it out.

Btw, I really thought the Idaho Made thing was going to bother me. (In fact I didn't expect this knife to have it, the seller is apparently using some old stock photos). But it actually doesn't bother me at all. It's not nearly as noticeable as it is in pictures.

Awesome. Put it to the test and report back with what you find. I am curious about this steel.

I am waiting on a back ordered Zaan right now . I SURE HOPE mine comes with S35VN too!

My Small Sebenza 21 Tanto that I bought from TNK, and whose birth card is dated 11/10/2010, also has an S35VN blade.

I know my TNK tanto Seb has it, but I've haven't really used it enough to notice any difference. It might be just me, but it appears to stain a bit more?

Yes the TNK tantos had S35VN, those came out a while back. I think this is first I've heard of a 21 having it tho.

Thinking of a Double-lug, micarta-inlay large seb (or insingo) with S35VN is getting me excited.

Here's a quick pic.

I took the knife apart to remove the lanyard and the blade has a V stamped on it near the pivot. So if you end up with a Sebenza and no card, you can look for the V to see if it's S35VN.

ive made a few knives with s35vn and it is super stuff. really tough. i prefer it to s30v.

Also, this is my first CRK. I don't know why it took me so long to get one. This knife is amazing! :D

Nice. I've been waiting for this time. Looks like I'll be putting my pennies together soon. Thanks for sharing (and the picture). Mike

I want a Insingo with S35V, wonder if it is coming as well.

I ordered a small and large insingo.. Just checked; the large is s30v and the small is s35vn. Didn't even think about it until I read this thread!

By the way, my small S35VN is on the trade forums if anybody has a large seb w/inlay or graphic they'd want to swap.

The latest shipment of Sebenzas that I just got in all had S35VN blades, so it looks like they have made the switch...at least on the large Sebenza.

I spyed a Small Micarta Inlay with the S35V blade in it, and it does not say Idaho Made on the back. Do they even put it on the small's.
