Sebenza off center blade

I got my first Sebenza last week off of the exchange. The action wasn't too smooth so.I took it apart and it was VERY difficult ro get the various parts seperated. Once I did, I cleaned everything thoroughly with one of the products I use on my guns and then used some silicone grease to get things back together. The metal circular piece that fits inside the blade and forms the pivot was very difficult to get situated and I had to use a little force. The blade was super smooth, but badly off center and hitting the scales. I took it apart again no less than 4 times trying to tighten different bolts and really putting things together carefully and to no avail. I have yet to carry this thing and I'm pretty upset. I went ahead and sent it to CRK today and I'm hoping they can fix it. It's razor sharp and everything looks great. I'm hoping to get something nice done with it (new lanyard and bead or new blue hardware) while it's there to make me feel better about the forced trip.
does anyone have any idea what might be wrong? The washers fit fine and when locked up it looks and feels great. I am pretty sure it was even before my disassembly, but the action was very sticky and poor. It makes me wonder if there was something going on with it before my involvment. The seller was an awesome guy so if there was something I'm positive he didn't know about it.

Is it possible to mix the bushing and the stop pin sleeve? Just a crazy idea..

How much force did you use to get the bushing in the blade?

I was forcing it in there pretty good. Once it got past what seemed like the outer part it moved pretty freely in there. To get it out originally I tried to use a mini pry bar and that didn't work so I used an aluminum pin and tapped it out with a mallet.

On my 25 I found out that one of my washer was either getting pinched or it was flipped the wrong way. It would rub the scale it was so bad. I disassembled it flipped the washer and greased it. And it was back to perfect. Crk will fix you up.

The fit is pretty tight. If you get it at just the right angle, it sort of just drops in. Maybe you damaged the bushing =/

I'm not familiar with the specific names of the parts. The pin was inserted with a washer on each side of the blade and it's interior metal piece as it had been prior to removal. I put it together just as it came apart. I can't see any damage to any parts, but clearly something is wrong. I am a little nervous as to what this will cost to repair.

Man... it never occurred to me to flip the washer. If that's all it is I will feel like a total idiot. I shouldve asked you guys before I sent it in

The bushing was VERY difficult to get out when I disassembled the knife. It was dirty, but I'm wondering if it was damaged prior. I know the clearances are super tight, but that bushing is pretty thick and I couldn't really use to much force based solely on its size.

Also It says Turn around is 3 - 4 weeks. Has that been you guys experience. I'm not going to pester them, but I would really love it if they were a little faster. I've been looking forward to this knife for a couple years now. If I had the money I would just buy the large Micarta Insingo that is next on my list to placate myself.

I just got my Damascus 21 back from CRK and it was almost exactly 4 weeks to the day. Sorry man.

The bushing shouldn't have been difficult to come out at all. The bushing is just wide enough to accommodate the blade and washers. I've always put the pivot pin in first, bushing next, washer, blade, other washer. The washer should slide over the bushing without any resistance.
I have mistakenly put the stop pin where the pivot bushing belongs, I discovered the washers don't fit on the bushing. That's how I figured out I had it wrong.
So yes it could have been re assembled wrong unbeknown from the original owner.
I've had a couple that was very stubborn when separating the slabs.
That's the best thing to do, send it in.

I've read over this no less that 10 times and I believe this is what happened on my knife. I'm sure the bushing will likely need to be replaced so hopefully that isnt expensive.. I remember seeing that one Washer did not fit on the bushing. It was next to it. Anyone know where to find a Detailed schematic for reassembling a 21?
At worst the knife will be returned to me in new condition and 100% tip top shape, but man its going to be a long month... Let's see.... what can I sell to free up funds for an Insingo

Unfortunately,..the stickies here are a bit useless as they are missing the pics and many links are now broken. I believe there are some youtube vids on the subject.

I find that the easiest way is to put the handle together without the pivot screws, then assemble the blade-bushing-washer combo, and slide it into place.

I agree, I find this to be my go to method when reassembling. I just keep the slab stand off screw and blade stop screw loose enough for the blade assembly to slide in. I keep the lock bar open and I have found there is a certain angle at which I can slide the blade in with ease. Once I get the pivot screw slightly snugged I fully open the blade and make my rounds to further tighten each screw.
