They're both the same price and I was wondering which one I should get. It's not going to be for an EDC or anything like that. Anybody have any experience with both? Thanks.

Not going to be for an EDC? Travesty!

If you can find an x-18 I'd say buy one, OTOH, you could buy a sebenza right away while you're looking for an x-18.

what is it going to be for if its not EDC?

There was a recent thread comparing the two so you might want to check that out and do some reading

I agree with DaveH if you can find one go with the xm-18

Also the sebenza or many customs are in the price range. all that said strider makes some good knives they just are tops on my "to get" list

the xm 18 is a very impressive knife for the money. I like the sebenza, but I'm still a little dumbfounded on what it gets you over a Benchmade.

If you can't find a local store with a Sebenza in stock, check out the CRK section under manufacturers. You will see a litany of new Sebenza users asking why they didn't find their Sebenza ten years ago.

I think the best part of the knife is there simply is no adjustment to the pivot. You just tighten it down on the center bushing and don't worry again about tension.

I edc my Sebbie, dang near wore the finish smooth on the handles too. Never a worry so I'm partial to it. I would dig having the XM-18, though I doubt it would get much pocket/user time, and since I already doled out some $$$ for the Seb, I don't forsee another high end purchase as the Seb fits the bill for me. I'm a user and not a collector, but that's just me. Whatever you choose I think you will be happy.

Best Regards,
Matador-

Personally when I held my first Sebenza I was not at all impressed. I felt it was overly expensive and felt cheap. I know that sounds weird but that was my original thought on them. I guess different strokes for different folks.

Though when I got my first strider I was pretty impressed. So if the XM-18 is anything like the sng and it looks possibly to be equal or better, then yeah Id go for the xm-18.

I also was disappointed with my Sebenza purchase. It came not in pristine condition as many others, and had issues from the get go despite the hefty price. And yes, I bought new. My opinion, get something else. Sebenza = overrated.

I think they are both good. You can get a sebenza anytime, try looking for an X-18!!!

So far, I have never had a production knife that I have been more pleased with than the Sebs. They are absolutely great users. I have put a few through the gauntlet and am very pleased with them.

I have never had an XM18, but I really hope to get into one in the near future.

To date, I have never heard of an owner of one of Rick's knives say anything negative about his products. my limited dealings concerning his other products have been enjoyable - He just seems like a great guy.

Someone in another thread, made this comment "Which knife is the best - the one you like the most" They both are tough as nails, so it'll probably boil down to whether or not you like G10 in your hand better than All Ti.

So, from your observation, which do you think you would enjoy more /carry more?

On that note, if anyone knows of a list of dealers who are getting any Xms in stock, I'd be much obliged to know who they are :)

Be Well, and best of hopes with your decision.
