Sebenza ordering question

My apologies if this is a moronic question. If I were looking to order a Seb with a particular combination of options, should I go directly through CRK, or is it possible and/or advisable to order through a dealer?

I'm kind of thinking of this in terms of the situation with ordering Randall knives, in which one can order from the factory (and wait 2+ years) or order through a dealer and receive the same knife somewhat more quickly................

Thanks.

I would think that it depends on the options.... Some of us try to have different things available. If you are to wait, CRK themselves seem awefully hard to beat unless the design is exclusive to one of the dealers or something... :) What options do you want?

I guess I should have mentioned that to begin with. :) Small plain Seb with single thumbstud, no anodizing and small swedge.

Sorry 92degrees, I disagree. I would order direct from the factory first. As long as they have the knife you want in stock it should only take a day or so to get the knife. Of course you could get lucky and find a Sebenza at a cheaper price somewhere else. In this case, yes, buy the knife and then send it back to the factory for your swedge. I just recently got a small classic w/silver contrast, pearl inlay, polished blade, and double thumb studs. It was sent to me within two weeks time. Pretty fast I thought. Good luck :)

That wasn't my experience, but I may have been involved in an unusual situation.

As an aside, if I knew I wanted options added immediately, then I would probably buy used and have the options added along with a refurb and save the $.
