Sebenza pocket clip screw size

Is the pocket slip screw the same size as the handle screws and can they be swapped with each other? I'm really curious because i have an 09 Large 21 that has completely different screws from the ones being used currently. The older screws CRK used to use were polished and the hole looks different as well. I replaced one of my stripped handle screws with a new replacement and it sticks out like a sore thumb because it looks so different. I would rather just take the screw off my pocket clip and swap that into the handle if they are the same size and all. It looks smaller but when I measured it with a ruler it seems identical. Better yet does anyone know where I can find some nice polished sebenza screws :).

I polished mine...took them off one day and took them to the white rouge polishing wheel at work. Get a dremel and some rouge...and have at it;)

Yeah, I dont like CRKs direction with the new screws only in the sense that they seem to be poorly finished. Earlier ones were polished, smooth and well centered, the new ones are not any of those things. its a bit disappointing.

This seems to just be the way things have gone of late. I have noticed a rather obvious drop in quality in the hardwear I use pertaining to the very things you mention....poor finish, off center cut outs as well as more duds per pack too.

Chris posted recently that he has having the same experiences as those Haze describes, and more frequently. IIRC, he said that fastener quality gave him more fits than any other part of the manufacturing process, which is sort of amazing when you consider the cost of the fasteners relative to the rest of a knife - but that's part of the problem, I'd guess (no one will buy a $1 screw when they can get 200 for the same price).

I bought a set of 3 pins and screws and a clip screw for my 2011 small 21, the clip screw is different, it sits flat on the surface and is more dome shaped,
the pivot and handle screws are countersunk screws with less domed heads.

Thank you for the info, I guess I'm stuck then and I can live with the new screws if I have to. After reading all the posts I checked my replacement screw and noticed its horribly off centered on top of being unpolished. I wouldnt have even noticed the uncentered hole until you guys pointed it out, thanks! Seriously though, why did CRK go with a different screw manufacturer?

The hardware to me is just as important as any other part of the knife. It gives it that finishing touch. And thats why if I do buy a Sebenza I look for the slightly older modles around 2010
and before. They also don't have the Idaho made inscription so that can be a plus for some also. I do remember Mr. Reeve saying finding quality hardware was getting to be a pain in the a**, of
course using slightly different language but that was the gist of it.

I can't speak for CRK but I personally didn't change manufacturer, it seems my supplier did. I have complained about the quality and finish to them but they say nothing has changed as far as they know. I would have though CRK are in the same boat and at this time have no choice.

I also agree that something as simple as a screw can change the whole item a great deal. When you see and know what goes into a CRK but have these shoddy looking screws it takes things down a notch even though functionally they will be the same. I can only imagine how Chris is feeling and we are not talking about anything he doesn't know already. If he could get the old ones or "better" ones he would have them.

This is a frustration of mine also. I have striped a number of screws when cleaning, don't understand why they don't use case hardened screws. Parkerized would be ok for me.

Ditto, I stripped the clip screw of my brand new Sebenza. The tool size seems to be too small for that screw.
