My pocket clip got snagged on something and got bent pretty bad. I decided to remove the clip and try to bend it back myself but, I actually like the knife more without the clip. Thinking of either carrying it loose in my pocket or getting a calfskin leather pouch for it.

Does anyone else prefer to take their pocket clips off their Sebenzas (or Umnumzaan)?

I agree the knife is more comfortable to use with out the clip but for me that is trumped by the convenience of carry a pocket clip provides. :)

I carry my wood ones in a pouch in my pocket. The issue I had with carrying them without a pouch is he flow through construction allows coins and keys to hit the blade's edge.

I will probably use a leather pouch to carry it.

This is my first Sebenza, are the pocket clips kind of easy to bend, it was not real bad but, I have never had a pocket clip bend on me. I ordered it from Blade HQ, which I think is an authorized Chris Reeve Dealer.

btw, I love this knife, I am already thinking of getting a small Sebenza or a Mnandi :D

I think a bent pocket clip is almost a rite of passage with Sebbies that says "Yes, I actually carried this knife". I can't recall owning a Sebenza, that I carried with any regularity, that I didn't bend the clip on at some point. I found that 2 pairs of needle nose pliers work pretty well for getting it back in service.

I bent my 21 clip twice. And I feel like the extra little angle at the bottom of the clip catches everything. Kind of wish it wasn't there.

Hmm... Sebbies only i guess? I've edc'd a clip knife for many years and have never had one catch... Well, on anything. I must remember to be extra careful with a Sebenza. ;)

Sebbies seem to be the "bendy" ones. I've only had one Benchmade clip bend, and that was my fault for clipping it on to a way-to-thick leather duty belt and then snagging it on a vehicle seat belt.

Little off topic, but how are the pocket clips on the Mnandis?

They seem to be stronger, less likelihood of bending when snagged on something.

Oh yeah, no, I know what you wrote. :)

Just to clarify, I'm not being rude or anything, I'm just humoring myself. I was serious when I said that I must be extra careful, I'd hate to lose or damage a Sebbie. :)

I haven't been using the clip because it shreds the hell out of my pocket, but I just got around to actually removing the clip a couple days ago. I love the feel of the knife without it. I've been carrying it for almost a year now, and I'm wondering why I didn't remove it earlier now. I always carry mine either loose in pocket, or in a belt pouch.

That's odd, I've never heard someone say that the clip was rough on their clothing.

If it was so tight I wonder if it had any bearing on lock bar tension. As I understand it, you should *just* be able to see daylight between the end of the clip and lock bar when the knife is in the open position. I had a tight lock bar on a 21 (never had any trouble with it though) and just flexed it a few times so that I got a tiny gap when open.
