The pivot screw keeps coming loose on my seb.. Iv never had this on others iv owned in the past .. Perhaps some lube got in the threds? I just dint wanna lose the pivot screw but def don't want to use loctite!! Any suggestions ???

Why no loctite? Can get one of the weaker strengths so you can easily remove it later. My first move would be take the screw apart, rinse it in some warm water in a plastic container so you doesn't lose it, dry it and put the knife back together. I think sebenzas can be screwed down really tight and the blade should still swing smoothly. That might be a good place to start.

Need you try removing it and cleaning it? Check the threads?

Did you get it new or 2nd hand?

How tight are you tightening it down?

You can use a small amount of BLUE loctite on the end of a toothpick applied to a small area on the threads and it will still be pretty easy to remove. However, I have not had to do this in the past on Sebenzas.

If all fails, you can contact Reeve and see what they suggest that you do.

Crk says no loctite !! I will try cleaning the screws but I have had to retighten every day I gotthis knife new so kinda strange ..

If it voids the warranty then I guess that is out. Try cleaning it and if that doesn't work, send it in. Not much else you can do.

They say no loctite because many folks have a tendency to slather it all over and make it impossible to remove. Many others use RED loctite and it is nearly impossible to remove without heat and a lot of work.

Also, it should not be necessary. Since it is new, it should not be necessary. Clean it thoroughly and see if that works. If not, contact Reeve. My guess would be that you are not tightening it down enough.

Def tightening down enough without stripping the hex heads def have a good feeling for this because of the mechanical trade I am in .. I just degreased the screws soo after a heavy day of use at work I'll see if it fixed the problem...

When they are tight enough you will here a snap when you loosen them.

If it continues call for a new pivot pin and screw...that would be my advice.

I think I was told they are 303 stainless which is soft and somewhat bonds to each other by someone...

Oops double post ... Anyway I wasn't getting that snap before but now with clean hardware I think I'm back in good health:)

If the screw continues to loosen after cleaning you may want to send it in to Chris so they can take a look at it.

Had same problem. The issue is that there is oils/grease on the knife. The pivot screw holds tight due to the taper of the ti hole, and if it is anything but dry, the screw will loosen on it own... Disassemble the knife, wash the screws and the ti with dishwashing soap, paying close attention to washing the tapers of all the holes, and put it back together

Clean, (degrease), the threads, male and female.

A little blue loctite goes a long way, it is easily breakable if you don’t use too much. If you don’t want to use that, there is a product called Vibra-tite. It works very well and has the advantage of being able to fasten and re-fasten several times after drying.

I bought a Blade-tech knife a while back and they included a sample of this stuff.
It works great. I don’t even use loctite anymore.

Best Advice.
