This forum has piqued my interest in Sebenza's and I need to know what is the exact length of the blade on a large Sebenza. I have read both 3.625 inches and 3.5 inches. I need to know because legal carry limit in Colorado is 3.5 inches.

From Chris Reeve's website, the blade length is 3.625". Sorry dude. Your out of luck. But no your not! That is why there is a Small Sebenza with a 2.94" blade.

The blade of my large, Regular Sebenza is just a hair under 3.5 inches long. That’s using the AKTI standard of measuring blade length: measuring the distance from the top most part of the handle to the tip of the blade.

I don’t know for sure though if all Regular Sebenzas have that same exact blade length. Mine was made in October of 2001, if that’s any help.

The large Classic Sebenza that I handled in a pass-around had a slightly longer blade. It was maybe an eighth of an inch longer and therefor over the 3.5-inch limit.

You might want to post this question in the CRK forum in the Manufacturers forums here at BFC. The people there might provide better info, but I think the Classic’s blade is always a little bit longer than the one on the Regular.

That's true, 89 mm for the large regular and 92 mm for the large classic.

Remember - the factory edge is only there until you sharpen it - so read a test like that carefully.
