I'm very close to earning my Eagle Scout rank, and have some funds left in my Scouting account that I can freely spend...in the neighborhood of a Sebenza.

What's the best source to get a Sebenza, and what model is the best for a young collector?

That's my simple question. I hope you find it in good taste!

Thanks for the help.

God bless you, America, and our men and women overseas.

Hello, You can order it directly from Chris Reeve Knives if you want, but you may need to wait some days if it isnt in stock. I got my Small Classic Sebbie from New Graham Knives.

Best source?

How patient are you, used ones come up regularly at substancial saving over new. I'd just keep an eye out.

Hmm, best model IMO would be a small micarta classic. The micarta is more grippy, but the whole knife is subdued, so I'd suggest tieing a large flourescent color lanyard on so it would be easy to see if you set it down in the woods.

If you wanted to buy a Sebenza with wood inlays then it is good to be able to see the particular knife you will be buying.
However, if you are buying a standard Sebenza, or one with Micarta inlays, they all look virtually the same.

plaza cutlery, true north knives, arizona custom knives, tadgear, newgraham knives, and steel addiction knives are all great companies to deal with.

as far as price, crk sets the prices so there is little variation, if any, from site to site. to save money you will have to go to ebay or hope to get one here on the exchange.

Small or large Micarta Inlay depending on what you are comfortable with. You might want to wait until the Seb 21 comes out and get the latest and greatest. I prefer the large but go for any one that floats your boat. You might also think of a plain one, order direct from CRK and have it custom engraved.:thumbup:

Congrats on your achievement in the Scouting world!;):D

I'm a big fan of the plain Classic. The inlays are cool and all but I love the very simple look of the plain, and have never had a problem with grip in cold or wet conditions.

I like the small classic models. The micarta and wood inlays are nice. I read somewhere that CR said a small would do 90% of your cutting, and I kinda agree.
