I have been tasked with doing a review of my Classic MM Sebenza, for the UK Knife page. That is not a problem! However...

Part of the review will be me digging deep and asking myself, why? Why did I spend so much on this knife? As many have said, it is very hard to define! I know the Sebi feels 'right' 'solid' 'pure' 'perfect' etc etc. I cannot decide just what it is about this amazing knife that has me so...speachless! And anyone who knows me KNOWS how unusual that is

!!!

How about helping me out and suggesting one thing about the Sebi that you really like! Or even better, how this knife makes you feel.

Perhaps this will inspire me.

We all know that the knife is incrediblity strong. But the feel of a large Classic 2000 Sebenza in hand is what does it for me. It seems to just lock in my grip no matter how I hold it. Also knowing that under any normal usages(and also over used) this knife will NOT fail, gives me a great deal of security. I love BG-42 steel and if you will excuse me saying on this forum; any other custom knives I have ordered in the past I have requested this blade steel. Very good
on corrosion resistance and edge holding. One last tidbit. It's great to know that the Sebenza will not open in your pocket or fall open before you want to use it. This seems to be a big problem for other custom/production type makers. Hope this helps. Thanks for listening.

Never even thought of that. You are right on the mark! The Classic MM to me is such a nice knife. I prefer it much more than the standard Sebi. The attention to detail is stunning.

Pick yours up! Right now! Look at the frame lock, where the thumb goes to close it. Notice how the champfered cut out covers both sides of the bar? This means no matter how hard or which side of the bar you press on to close the knife, it is smooth. Attention to detail! On Nemo`s Sebi, the area was only worked on the inside part.

Look here!

Mine is the bottom one!

Thanks!

There are but a precious few things in life which I am capable of acquiring that are the very best in design, materials and execution. The Chris reeve Sebenza is one of them that I may savor. It is the acme, the pinnacle, (sorry) of its limited class.

Nimrod said it my plain Sebenza is the "very best in design, materials and execution". All other production folders compare like my Ford Windstar does to a Mercedes SL500 (another want) either one will get were your going. But!?

What I like best about my Sebenzas is what opponents say they don't like about it....it's pure basic design. No ginger bread on these babies. Just the essentials for the best folder on the market.

If you want fancy, sell your house and get one of these:

Funny, I like the looks of the Sebenza better than either in the above set!

Something to consider is that in this warranty-weary day, CRK actually furnishes a tool to disassemble the knife, something that voids the warranty on many other well-respected brands. It's designed and made well enough, to such fine tolerances, that it can be disassembled by the owner.

Not only that, but the average owner can take it apart and reassemble it again over and over with no need for special tweaking by the maker, and even the most ham-handed among us can do so without undue effect.

That Chris designed his Sebenza with enough confidence to allow us to work on our own knives is reflected in the confidence that the many Sebenza owners use their knives.

How's that for an angle?
