James - was your knife #170 (new profile) or P170 (original profile)?
I ask the question becasue the knives numbered P are all of the original profile, have ATS 34 blades, and were made around 1991/2. We did number the first 200 of the new profile but did not include the "P".

You have guessed right, my #170 was a new profile model. Thanks for staitening things out, it looks like JimBob's knife is about 5 years older than I thought.
