So i know that the regular and older sebenzas have the screws that have the female side flat, and the male is the only opening(haven't taken apart my regulars in a bit so i'm not sure if it's the female or male side). Wolf5391's recent threads(all closed so i couldn't post a question) with pictures showed having those screws on a 21. Was this used on the first 21's, or did they completely switch over to new screws for the 21's? How about the classics?

It's hard nowadays with the fakes, and the frankenbenzas to know if you're getting something legitimate on the secondary market. I really enjoy that fact and timeline sticky thread. Thanks for any help :)

If your talking about the difference in the screws pictured below, the ones with the opening where introduced in 2010, they weren't around in 2009. I think they all started having the opening on the female side around the same time. If you see a 2009 and older sebenza with the opening in the female screw it's not original. Some guys don't like the new style screws and the Idaho Made stamp so they'll buy an older sebenza swap the parts and resell it as new, that's what Spyfanman did before he sold me that $585.00 Frankenbenza. I see it all the time with the swapping of the screws. They were introduced in late 2010 and anything prior to that doesn't belong there but people are selling 2008, 2009 sebenza with the newer style screws. I always say Buyer Beware after that BS with Spyfanman. What I'd like to know is when did CRK stop BB the screws, I've seen and own one P sebenza with polished screws and doesn't seem right unless it was sent to the spa, I think. Anyone know when CRK stopped bead blasting the screws?

yup, those are the exact screws i was talking about. Thanks for the time reference. After what happened to you, and some of the other going on's i've stayed away from fleabay and been reserved about the secondary in general.

isn't there a third type screw too though? first were the flats, then the two openings, then i could have sworn someone else mentioning if the newer screws had a new finish or something?

The top sebbe is from 2012 and the bottom one from 2001. The only other difference I know of is the BBing on the older screws, you might be thinking about the new screw style used on the Newer Mnandi's.

I only recall 2 screw types. Even my P sebenza has the same style of screws the regulars have. CRK had the flat side screws which were the female ends and the male screws that mated it had the hex. These were on all the sebenzas up to and including the 21. In the last year or so, they came out with new screws to help keep them from stripping and to help keep the other screw from turning as sometimes happened. They do offer them in polished and blasted depending on your needs.

ah, okay. Maybe that was what was making me think there was a third type. I didn't know about the polish and blasted option though. No matter how much you try and learn, you always learn something new. Thank for the info guys.
