Sebenza Slicer....anyone support a thinner blade?

I know asking these questions is pointless, as CRK will do exactly what they please. If they listened to me, we would have a large Mnandi, and a Small Umnumzaan in the catalogue, and we don't, so I get it! ;)

However......lately I have been dreaming of a Small Sebenza 21, with the same thin blade stock used on the Mnandi. I realize, at least for me, there is almost no benefit to having an "overbuilt" knife for the tasks I typically undertake at work, and at home. I am sure the same is true for many tradespersons and homeowners etc, which is why Olfa knives, and steak knives, and paring knives, and box-cutters are typically made from very thin stock. The benefit of anything "overbuilt" is generally psychological when it comes to your average EDC task.

Anyways..........who would be interested in a "thin" sebenza slicer? Not crazy thin, but thin like the Mnandi.

A Sebenza slicer would be the insingo. That's as close as we are going to get and its hard to beat.

And if CRK listened to me, we would still have Regular Sebenzas.......and a large Mnandi would be nice too....!!!

You know, you can have the best of both worlds. I've got a small regular that I bought with a reground blade. I knew going into the deal that I had to keep the knife. Its amazing how well of a slicer a thinned blade is.
Something to consider.
Hell, you weren't afraid to redesign your wood inlay and look how gorgeous that turned out. Worse case scenario is you have to buy a new blade.

I love thin blade stock slicers and also love my small Sebenza Insingo even though it is not a slicer.
Yes, a small Insingo with a thin blade stock would be sweet......

+1 on the Insingo! The thinner blade is awsome... I do have a Reg with a bogered blade... May have to thin it!

A thin slicer, yes!:D
That might look something like this:

I totally love that blade shape! Thinner stock would be perfect indeed...

**Pardon the knife as it is not a CRK...

I find the Insingo to be an insanely good slicer, and tend to prefer it for EDC tasks. The Mnandi, while nice, is just too small to be useful in all situations. +1 for a large!
