This might be a controversy starter, but small Sebenza or Mnandi? And why! Pics are always welcome!!!

Sebenza as an EDC. Its one tough knife, and still looks great with character marks.

Mnandi if you're wanting a great looking small gentlemans knife.

Or both.

Where do you work and what do you intend to use it for?

They are two very different knives developed for very different purposes. I've ended up with both after falling in love with the Mnandi, which is perfect for 99% of what I'll need. It's the absolute best knife I've found to carry in an office setting and slices open boxes and mail with ease. However, after all the hype I found here, I decided to check out the small seb first hand and found it to be much more substantive than the mnandi. Do I really need anything more? No, but I picked it up anyway... So maybe the answer is both.

Well my friend... Both are excellent knives. Both have superior fit and finish. Both are legendary CRK's. Is one better than the other? That all simply boils down to personal preference. I myself am a Seb guy. I have had 3 marriages with Mnandi's and all 3 have ended in divorce. I love my Sebs--big and small. That's one mans opinion.

Lol, both are awesome knives!!! I love how the Mnandi just looks so extremely gorgeous and is a super tough knife, deceivable for its size. I had a small sebbie and sold it for a Umnum, but here in a couple days i'll have another small sebbie thanks to Lone_Wolfe!!! So I will have one of each of tha great Chris Reeve knives! And thats where this thread came from! Which for everyday carry!!! Dilemna! And for Ganagati, I work for good ol Pepsi, so would be used for cutting shrink wrap, tape, plastic, boxes, etc...

I'm sure the mnandi could handle it, but that really sounds more like small seb territory.

Perhaps you could get on the Flat Stanley - mnandi edition and check it out without the investment. Either that or simply pick up a used one on the exchange that could be let go with little loss if it didn't meet expectations.

It's personal preference really.

light edc - mnandi
ed - small sebbie

but both is the best answer, both have their specific edc sector
I own both and both find their edc time, depending on days, dress, workplace, people I'm with...

Can't lose with either one! I bought the small Sebenza first and then a Mnandi later. The Mnandi is the perfect "daily office" knife where the Sebenza is more of a Friday or evening knife. If you can afford it, go for both! If only one I recommend the Mnandi. As long as you have other larger knives I think you will find you use it more.

as stated before , get both :p i bought a small seb first and a mnandi later. it really is something you should experience. The sebenza feels a lot stouter though. I used it to whittle wood and do some light chopping and it did fine. I wouldnt dare to do that with my mnandi tough. I do cary my mnandi more and more lately though

I'd say based on the tasks you have in store for it, the small Sebenza would be ideal. The Mnandi is a tad more money for less blade real estate, yet it makes up for it in handsomeness (personal opinion) and stealthiness.

Small Sebenza now, Mnandi later, but I definitely recommend you have both:thumbup:

I carry the small Starbenza a lot more than I carry the Mnandi, though I have more love for the Mnandi's character. The small Seb is much stronger and more confident as a work blade. For you I think that would be ideal.

Sebenza is better for EDC for me. It's small enough to be fairly inconspicuous, but much more substantial than the Mnandi. I carry the Mnandi for very knife unfriendly situations. Weddings, funerals, etc.

I would recommend a small Insingo for EDC. The blade shape of the Insingo is incredibly versatile IMHO.
