Sebenza Stop Pin Screw Question

The stop pin screw on my Sebenza keeps loosening over time. Every two or three days I have to tighten it back down, because it gets so loose that when I put the allen wrench in before I tighten it it turns freely.

I don't really want to put loctite in it, are there any other solutions or suggestions?

Have you used oil to lube the threads? If you did, you might want to remove any lubricants since they can cause the screw to loosen over time. If you're still having problems with it loosening, a wrap or two of teflon tape should do the trick :D.

We used to use nail polish instead of loctite when we built a prop we knew was going to be broken back down but we didn't want to rattle apart.

There's no oil on the screws, I've even switched the screw from the other end of the knife to see if there is a change, and there's not.

Teflon tape sounds like a good idea.

Though maybe I should give CRK a call and see if maybe they can send me new screws? Would I need to send in the knife for that?

If the screws tighten down, there's nothing wrong with them so I wouldn't consider calling CRK. How do you know there's no oil on the screws? I suggest you just clean them with some type of solvent (nail polish remover, alcohol, etc.) and try that out to see if it fixes the problem. If they still loosen, then you may want to use stjames' tip of nail polish instead of loctite.

Nope..You will be fine ordering the screws, assuming it is the screw that has the problem and not the female portion of it. (bad thread on the female portion)

If I remember correctly, a set of screws from CRK costs less than $10 including shipping.
