Does anyone have a pic of a swedge on a large or small classic sebenza? I was also wondering if it's more for asthetics or if it's functional. Even though I haven't seen a picture of it, it seems as though it would bring the blade down to a finer point (which I would find useful).

Oh really? Hmm......probably why I haven't seen a pic of one. :0)

Strange, when I ordered a large classic directly from the maker was I asked if I wanted a swedge.

Read somewhere, during my initial Sebenza research, that the swedge is available for the Classic, but due to the fine point already there and the blade shape, that the swedge will not be as noticable as it is on the regular. I know the Classic in my pocket right now has an almost needle like point!

I have a lg classic with a swedge, and it does indeed make the point pointier. I'll try to post a pic later.

Thanks guys! I was thinking of getting one on my Small Classic. I could use the finer point seeming as how I only use my Small Sebenza for finer work while my Large handles everything else.

here is a picture of my small standard with swedge and my classic micarta without.

I think a bird's eye view of the spine of the blade would give people a better idea of how big the swedge actually is. Would anyone be willing to take a picture like that?

Thanks.

I recently tried to order a Large classic with a swedge (from the factory) and was told they were only available on the standard. I will attempt to clarify though.

So the word is-when they started doing the swedge they did offer it on the Classic and Standard. But the blade profile of the Classic made it too difficult so they discontinued that as an option. You can only order it on a Standard now.
