I just aquired a small Sebenza with unique graphics.

I did a search but didn't find the answer for my questions. I would call CR, but it's a holiday weekend and I'm sure they'll be closed Monday.

If I get it scratched up on the decorated side of the satin brushed scales and wear the anodizing, can the satin brushed finish be refinshed and reanodized ?

I have read that the regular TI bead blasted scales are commonly refinshed, but haven't seen anything posted about the unique finishes.

Thanks

I had one redone, the anodize never looked the same unfortunately. I hope this helps

Thanks Labella.I have a few more silly question if someone could answer.

Has anyone ever intentionally or unitentionally used metal polish like flitz, mothers, semichrome or neverdull to put a slightly shinier or higher polish on a unique sebenza or simply to remove scratches ?

I know scratches are going to happen, just trying to make a plan in advance.

It would seem to me using a polish to remove small scratches would cause you to have to polish the entire handle to make the finish look consistent resulting in in a shinier handle. Would this look as good as the brushed satin finish ? Anyone done this and have pictures of results ?

Oh, and could CR bring a decorated sebby back to the original finish when refurbing one if not satisfied with the result ?

Thanks and I'll try to make this my last questions.

I've refinished the graphic side by putting Flitz or Blue Magic on a perfectly flat surface, like a piece of thin cardboard over a piece of glass and rubbing the scale back and forth (knife disassembled, of course). Using this method you touch up only the polished surface and not the graphic or edges of the scale. Use Windex and a soft cloth to clean it afterward. On the lock side, I tape off the polished portions and re-blast the rest using 80 grit aluminum oxide in my blast cabinet. Hope this helps!

I have retouched one using 1500 to 2000 grit paper applied with a flat sanding block, as said before, being careful not to sand anodized areas, nor getting grit in/on them.
Worked for me.

your best bet would be to send it back, honest for what you pay in reference to what you get, its a phenomenal deal! They will re-bead blast everything lube and tighten it up correctly and resharpen her up

only complaint I could possibly have is they always put the screws back the correct way ( I prefer mine reversed) and re-tie a lanyard on for you ( I take them off usually)

Good idea, and best bet is to send her back

Honest!
