Today when i unscrewed Sebenza for cleaning and lubricating I noticed that the pivot pin screw was very loose... It was so loose that i could unscrew it with my finger, did anyone of you had the same problem ? Did anyone ever lose any Seb's screw that way ?

Too bad i can not use loctite, especially that that screw doesn't affect to blade play at all...

i myself have never heard of any sebenza having any problems. But if in the rare case a screw does come loose, an alen key is provided to retighten. Ive had mine for years and never had a screw loose. Tighten it and you should be fine. :)

Of course i've tighten it :)

What I meant is that anyone ever lost his screw that way cause if i didn't notice that in my home i might loose that screw somewhere.

Anyway, thanks for answering,

I have had my screw loosen up as well, but have never lost it. Generally if the screw comes loose, my lock starts to feel a little sticky and this is my indication that it's time for a cleaning/tune up.

never heard of anyone with a screw loose, or any real problems with a chris reeve knive, but as im sure you have figured out turning it to the right will tighten it. :D ..just kidding we are all friends here, call chris reeve knives and ask if they can send you out a new screw, tell them you have a screw loose...ok ill stop now..its getting old.

I expected that coming from some wise guy  :D

Damn it's my second Sebenza and i've never had any problems with it, it's great EDC and extraordinary cutter - no complains!

I just wanted to ask if this (big tags) "problem" is common, and yes, Chris would probably send me replacements right away but i don't see any reason why should i bother him now...

EDIT for spelling...

...which is relatively soft, very stainless, and the threads are designed to gall somewhat when tightened down. To take advantage of this, however, you really need to put a little extra umphh on your final screw turn.

When you disassemble your Seb, you should hear a nice "pop" when you put that first turn into unscrewing the screws.

When the screws are tightened correctly, there ain't much chance atall that they're going to loosen and fall out...

Professor.

That was the problem with the lock sticking on my Pheasent Tail. After I took it down and cleaned it,reasembled it.I have not have any trouble with the screw loosening back up or the lock sticking.

I have had this problem with my pivot screw and the pocket clip screw. With regular use, the pocket clip screw needs to be tightened about once per week, and the pivot screw about the same. I have tried cleaning the pivot screw and receiver with alcohol, and have tried putting a little piece of teflon tape in there, neither of which seemed to help. I spoke with someone at CRK and they recommended sending it in for repair. Problem is, I only have one, and don't think I could part with it for that long.

I guess my next step is to purchase a new set of screws and see if that fixes it. (I did get a new pocket clip screw after shredding the old one using the short end of the allen key, and trying to torque it down into submission.)
