i think i have seen a post on this before but can't seem to find if. is the apogee built as good as the sebenza?does the lock hit like a hammer like the sebenza? is the action smooth?thanks for any help you can give me.

Once more into the breach…

The Apogee is a very well built knife, smooth action and a great lockup. Darrel builds as solid an Integral Lock folder as I have come across, and offers a great choice of blade materials, from CPM420V to Talonite to his own Damascus. His fit and finish is top notch, his grinds a thing of beauty. You would be hard pressed to find a flaw in his work.

With all the choices in integral lock folders out there, and more appearing all the time, you should base your decision on what knife appeals to you and would best suit your needs. Handle and blade profile, size and style preferences, material choices, all these are major factors in choosing a knife. Let them be your guide.

Jackyl did a comparison a while back on the two. Search the Knife Review forum. I carry my large Sebbie (plain dual stud) daily. My Apogee is smooth, solid and sexy. Sebbie is solid and dependable. Truth is I am afraid to carry the Apogee or decorated Sebenzas for fear of scratching them. Both are great knives and you would not go wrong with either. My only gripe about the Apogee is the clip. Looks like a Benchmade clip.

Wow -this is like asking if you liked being driven to the club in the Rolls or the Dusenberg?

Here's a picture comparison for you (large lefty Sebenza and medium lefty Apogee):

I like both knives very much. Which one is my daily carry? The Apogee.
