Hi guys , i have been thinking about getteing a plain large Sebenza to replace my spyderco atlantic salt that I edc.( yes i lost 200 bux of spidie , so i'm replacing it with about 500 bux of Sebenza , ha ha ha )

Since theres no chance in handeling one before i order, I was wondering what you guys thought about size , weight ect differences ..... yes I know that the blade shape and materials are different ....

I was just after more of an over all comparison .

thanks for your coments guys - Wack

Hiking boots or swim fins? Either you need H1, or you don't. About all that's similar is that both have sharp edges. Without a lot more detail about your needs and preferences, it's hard to comment.

Wack, I don't think those 2 knives can be compared.

Get a Sebenza, you won't regret it.

No worries mate. You from Brisbane?

Kind regards,

Jos

yeh jos , good old brisbane :)

I was realy after how it sits in your hand - phisical dimentions feel to it , not the H1 side of it ( the rescue was the same price , so i figgured the H1 couldn't hurt being corsion resistant, thats the only resone I went the salt , not that it needed to be :) ) .

Because I carried the atlantic salt every day for 2 yrs I know how it sits feels etc .... I don't know of any one down near here with a seb and we have 2 inporters here , but thats more of a mail order style than shop front thing that you could have a look at one .

Gunna be geeting into hunting after a long absence , having a point might be a good thing after 2 yrs of carring esentialy a cut throat razor ,,,,,, ha ha ha :D

Thanks guys any way ....

Wack,
There are a few Sebbies in Oz, I have just bought one (third hand). It is a small micarta classic and I am impressed. It really sits nicely in my hand (medium glove) and is beautifully made and finished. The workmanship really is as good this forum claims. Get a Sebbie you will not be dissappointed. I was a bit iffy about the Oz resellers - hence my second hand purchase. But I had been thinking of buying direct from CRK or a US reseller.
Btw - how good is the Atlantic Salt?
Regards
pce

kinda like comparing apples and kangaroos, but ill give it a shot since i have both.

the sebenza will carry better since it is narrower. no spydie hole and the best blade to handle ratio out there.

the salt is lighter, but not significantly. ill give you weights of each later tonight.

the sebenza is easy to dissasemble and clean, the salt is pinned, so this is not so easily done.

yeh , I know guys , like comparing a datson and a rolls royce :)

yeh , I know the quality is definatly with crk , built like a tank :D , no probs there

pce , yeh about the resellers , I was just gunna go thru CRK - was gunna get me name engraved on the back so it saves the hasel

and yeh , the salt got a hiding , I had a black straight edged one that I rebeviled because i found the edge needed a little bit meat behind it , used to go fishing and never worried about rinseing the salt off ( realy never got any corrosion what so ever), the extra large hole means even with my motorcycle gloves on it was easy as to open one handed .... :)

MORIMOTOM , thats what I was after , sweet , thanks matey :D

unlike some of the guys on the board, i dont have a lot of production blades , and the almost 500 bux here is alot of coal and 1095 / 01 steel ( not a dig at price or quality guys, not at all ). I've made fixed blades that never felt right in hand, but a mates thought it was almost built for them , yep, santa did drop that 1095 down their chimney come x mass time ( one day i'm gunna not give them away to mates , and keep one ha ha ha )

any way , me production bonus time is commin' , and at almost .92c to the dollar its looking wayyy better ....

.... thanks guys - Wack
