(not the sort you eat - for my American readers :D )

For years I had looked at pictures of Sebenz's on web sites and wondered what it would be like to own one of these beauties but thought I cant afford that much money in one go for a knife (not being very good at saving)

Being left handed and living in the UK (less than 3" blade length) made my search for a perfect EDC all the more difficult.

I have had many Spyderco's (for many years about the only quality knives you could easily find in the UK) several BM's, a Kershaw and plenty of others.

None of them were ever perfect and many of them were well off the mark and sold or traded quickly.

I must have spent the equivalent to several Sebenza's worth of dosh NOT to find what I was looking for.

Then back in the summer I finnaly decided to save up and order a Sebenza (the good thing about ordering a left handed one is that it gives you some time to save up before it arrives :) ) a small lefthanded regular. The wait for it to ship from CRK to my dealer in the states seemed to last for ever and then sweating as it made its way across the atlantic to me.

But what sweet joy when it arrived, I had never been so pleased with a knife before in my life. Other than it had a silly stud instead of a hole to open it ( shields are up Kiptin :D ) it was everything I had been looking for for years.

The trouble is that it has not ended there, I had to have a large and that arrived about six weeks ago. I now have a small classic uniqure graphic on order and am on the list for next years wood inlay limited edition. I am even looking at damascus blades

When will it ever end?

All those people who post and say that buying a sebie will save you money in not buying other knives are lying bas***ds :D

Had to get that off my chest, waffle over

:D

LOL how true.

The more I buy, the more I actually appreciate how well designed and executed the Sebenza is.

jsun - the more I buy the more excuses I need to think up in case my wife ever finds out :D

LMAO Bagman. I know EXACTLY where you're coming from.

The secret escape method is to ply her with new shoes.

Hello,

I was showing a decorated Sebenza to a friend a couple of nights ago, and after discussing it's merits for a while, he sighed and said that he couldn't afford one. My darling wife who had been listening said "Why not ask your wife to buy you one for Christmas... they're only about £50 ($75)". I nearly died, as I told him a couple of days ago how much they really cost - ($750 in UK). I nearly sh*t myself, as I was afraid he let on without thinking:eek:

As luck would have it, at being a sensible lad, as well as a friend, he smiled, and said nothing. Bloody Hell!! That was close.

I live to continue with my collecting, at least, for the time being.

Doug - Did you break out into a cold sweat??

I allways do on these occasions, I could never be a master criminal - naturally too quilty

A few years ago Kevin Wilkins phoned me at home to discuss sheath options on a custom knife he was making for me and I had to come out with BS about why an american was phoning me from Berlin
